I saw a couple of blips - Al Sharpton (how did that man get to be "famous"?) for about a minute until I couldn't take him anymore! Brooke Shields - I thought it was okay, and she was trying to bring the Michael Jackson she knew into light, for about 3 minutes, and then Paris's statement. I thought that was lovely and heart-felt.

I do have a problem though, and so does everyone I've spoken to: Michael Jackson fought for years to keep those children hidden from public eyes. He went to great extremes that were ridiculed. Now, their pictures are everywhere - exactly what their father didn't want. I feel the family was exceedingly irresponsible to have them at the PUBLIC memorial! There was a private service beforehand that they attended, they should have been taken back to their grandmother's or wherever they're staying.
Seems that no-one was really thinking about what Mr. Jackson wanted for his children - to be anonymous. Before, they could have gone out in public, and no-one would be the wiser about who they were - now, there is no chance what-so-ever they won't be hounded by the press, and stalked for the rest of their lives (or at least until they are not interesting which I doubt will be any time soon).

DH and I were discussing the same thing. MJ made his children wear ridiculus masks and costumes, so that they could (when not with him) go out in public like normal kids. Someone even commented on the fact that when visiting with other people's children then would all go out and have fun with no-one bothering them because they had no idea who they were. Now their faces will be recognized internationally.... so sad!
