| Is anyone getting hooked on Witches of Eastwick? I'm finding this show to be pretty interesting. It seems that the main character is doing an impersonation of Jack Nicholson at times. Anyone watching?

| I'm watching Eastwick! I wasn't sure if I would like it as well the first week but have watched it every week since. I am kind of chalking the Jack impersonation up to the fact that the actor playing Darryl is British and he is trying to do an American impression . . . by maybe channeling Jack a bit. ![]()

| Do you think he was imitating Jack's mannerisms? A few scenes looked as if he'd studied the original and imitated the face and body movements and even the voice inflection. It was GOOD, but it was like looking at a morph of Jack to me.

| I haven't watched last night's epidose yet, but yes, I'm watching too. I love how he's portraying Daryl. He's a hoot! And must be having so much fun..... I chose to DVR it as one of my two new shows for this Fall....the other is Stargate:Universe.

I don't see the Jack thing -- he's softer, more intelligent, but rooted in the book's character. I do think Nicholson "nailed" it, so it would be hard to play the character differently. I like the show well enough and thought it was cool that they had the woman from the movie as a character in the pilot.... Not sure it's a winner, but it might be my guilty pleasure. Eileen

| His name is Paul Gross. He was the Canadian Mounty on the US/Canadian show called Due South back in the 90's. He's the lead in Slings and Arrows (a Canadian series that was about a reperatory theatre.) His filmography can be found here: Paul Gross: career highlights I feel in love with him in Slings and Arrows and then got my library to bring in DVDs of whatever productions they could find. He's a really facile actor and has a great deal of charm and depth. I adore him. Eileen

| I'm really liking this show the more I watch it. I DVR it and then watch it all by myself.

| I noticed the "Nicholson Channeling" right off....the voice inflections, particularly. I'm not quite sure that I'm happy with that, but it seems to be fading with time. I've been watching this every week, along with ABC's Wednesday sitcom lineup. I'm liking "Modern Families" and "The Middle". "Hank" I'm watching because I like Kelsey Grammar. I loved the first episode of "Cougar Town", but it's fallen kinda flat since then...seems to be a "one-joke" type of show, and how many variations can you do of "Older Woman On the Prowl"?

| Yes, I agree with that! There were a few scenes that seemed to channel Nicholson in the first episode, but now the character is moving away from that.

| ACK! Eileen . . . you're right! I could SWEAR I saw him in something where he has a British accent though at one time . . . though now that you mention Due South (and I saw that he was in a movie called Aspen Extreme, which I saw ages ago. lol) I remember who he is. ![]()
