Have read any of hte CSI books

I just found one of these at my library and wondered if anyone has read them. I wondered if the were like the show. My almost 14 year old is always looking for a new book series and since he likes the show CSI, I wondered how it would be for him. I will read one first before I suggest it to him. He loves to read, but has a hard time finding things he likes - Love the "redwall' book , Maximum Ride books and Harry Potter. Do you have any suggestions for him.
