V the show, *possible spoilers*

I have to say I wasn't looking forward to this. At the last minute I just flipped the channel and it was on. I know there was some V show back in the 80s (I think) And it seemed pretty boring from what little i've seen of it.

But, this was a really cool show! I'm hoping it's an ongoing show and not just a mini series. There was a good amount of action mixed in with the drama which kept me entertained.

It kind of reminds me of the movie, They Live, with the aliens being on earth and a group of underground "freedom fighters" trying to get rid of them.

What did you think of it?

DBF and I really enjoyed it. We have been looking forward to it since we both were big fans of the original miniseries. We really enjoyed how they reinterpreted the series.

I am so mad I forgot all about it being on. I was able to DVR the last half hour. Hopefully I can watch it tonight. Glad to hear it was pretty good

DH remembers the miniseries; I don't. He was looking forward to the show last night and seemed to enjoy the first episode. I guess we'll see whether they keep the storyline going for a series-length run.

DH and I watched last nights epi and thought it was pretty good. I will keep watching to see where it goes, however, ABC is only showing 4 epis this month and then it goes on hiatus until March 2010.

Nothing like a buzz kill to have to wait 4 months to see a show that only aired 4 epis. ABC loves to shoot themselves in the foot ALOT!

Yep, that hiatus is going to be interesting. Of course, if the show bombs this month, then it won't be a problem.

DW and I watched it last night; it was a decent reimagining of the original series. Nothing that was knock-your-socks-off good, but it was of workmanlike quality. We'll keep watching and decide week-by-week whether it's worth our time.

Someone had mentioned that this was already done. Where was the original shown?

I think it was in 82 or 83. I saw the old one rerun on another channel and checked the year.

The original series came out in 1983. SyFy ran the original miniseries as a "marathon" this past weekend.

Another here who really liked it (although maybe they could have kept the "secret" a little while longer of the V's actually being scaly aliens). I liked the lead actress (where have I seen her before?).

Anna? She was the ..umm...lady of ill repute on Firefly/Serenity (the captain's sometimes girlfriend).

I said the exact same thing - it would've been nice if they'd at least drawn it out a little with the whole, "Are they good/are they bad?" to kind of keep you guessing. Having some that may or may not be traitors to their species is not that intriguing to me. On the whole, however, I really liked the first episode - but I'm with you all, it's definitely a letdown that they're only showing 4 eps, and then we have to sit on our hands until March. Stoopid!

Another thought - if the "lead actress" you're talking about isn't Anna,

the head V,
are you talking about the blonde FBI agent?

If so, that's Juliet, from LOST.
