hi I have beeen researching e-readers and am having trouble picking one. I found one that I can download both nook and kindle Has anyone bought a Cruz?
the name is Velocity Micro Cruz e-reader. It is a Richmod,Va. based company. I found it searching for e-readers. It is on Amazon, E-bay, and Best Buy.com. Hope this helps. Ithas aps on it and is Andriod.
I just got a Kindle and I love it! You can sync books you are reading between various Kindle aps which is great! And you can share books with other Kindle readers, although I haven't tried this out yet. A nice feature is that the battery lasts a really long time on the Kindle. I first charged my Kindle four weeks ago, and I still have approximately 25% charge left, and this includes reading my Kindle almost every day.
I have been going back and forth, researching both. I KNOW I want the 3G + WiFi, but I read varying reports...each says THEY are the best...how do you know? How did you decide? I like the appearance of the Nook so much better. But I am really drawn to the one month battery life of the Kindle! What helped you make your decision, and which one do you love?

I have a Kindle and my mom has the nook. Her's seems cooler because it's in color, but other than that I don't know much about it. I chose the kindle after researching it, and seeing that their library of books to chose from was the largest. I figured that was most important at the time. I love it!!!
I love my Kindle that I received for Christmas. The battery really does last a long time before recharging. The Kindle was rated highest in Consumer Reports, over the Nook.

We just got the Nook for my boys (12, 9) and they love it. We choose Nook because we can get books from more than just one place and family members can buy gift cards for Books A Million or Barnes and Noble that they can use in the store or for their Nook.
I have the Nook color and absolutely LOVE IT! The battery life will last longer if you turn off the Wi-Fi when you are not using it! I love the fact that I can share books with other Nook owners. Friday's are FREE Book Friday's on Facebook. I have downloaded about 15 since Christmas. It's also nice to be able to check email and go online without pulling out the laptop.
So if I have a Nook, I can not buy the Kindle version of books from Amazon?
(I can see why it wouldn't work, I just think it is wrong.)
I do not have either on yet but I am mulling it over.

WDW Oct . 2012 Since Minnie's chair is gone, I had to find a new place to have our photo taken this past Oct. Not sure this will be the permanent place.
I went back and forth on this for quite awhile before I ended up getting the nook. The reason I ended up getting the nook is because if I have questions or problems with it, I can take it to Barnes and Noble to deal with it immediately. If I need to, I don't want to wait for the product to reach them and then get back to me. Plus there is something about having the person right there in person to help you.
Target and Best Buy both carry the Kindle now, but that is a joke (at least where I live). When I went to the electronics department of Target of the two people working in the department, one didn't even know what it is, much less if they carry it. They other person said something like, "Yeah, we have it somewhere I think." He basically walked around with me to find it which I could have done myself and he knew NOTHING about the product.
At Best Buy when I went in and asked for it, the person said something like, "You can speak to so and so over there; he is the person who knows and sells the Kindle and nook. (Side note: Until then I didn't know they sell the nook; I thought it was only available at Barnes and Noble. But if you get the nook get it at B&N!!) This person who supposedly specifically sells these products knew next to nothing, barely more than the Target person. From my own research I knew way more than this salesperson and he looked at me like I had two heads.
Contrast B&N... I spoke to two different people. BOTH of them knew EVERYTHING about this product. I don't think I could have possibly given them a question that they didn't know the answer to. In the end, this is why they got my sale.
I had this same dilemma when asking for a Christmas present. I just could not decide at the time and went for new pots and pans instead.
I know people that have Kindles and love them, but I like the fact that you can buy the gift cards for use. I think some of the books I liked were actually cheaper on the Nook than Kindle. But, I want a new phone and I think the one I want to get you can do Kindle on it. Still haven't made up my mind.
