In Jakarta the teams must join the Dutch Colonial bike club, dressed in colonial patrol uniforms they ride to Venderburg building for their next clue.
On the way Ernie’s pedal falls off and all but one team pasts them. Amani and Marcus are the team that is last.
Take a taxis to SalamkangVillage to a restaurant.
Rice Field: The team must deliver 2 plates of food to works at the rice field for lunch, as they eat the team must plant rice seedlings to get the clue.
Kaylani and Lisa, Liz and Marie, Marcus and Amani
Grass feed: Fill 2 bags of grass and collect 2 sheep, bring them to the shed and fill a trough with 6 buckets of water, only using 2 buckets.
Tommy and Andy, Zac and Laurence, Cathi and Bill, Jeremy and Sandy, Justin and Jennifer, Ernie and Cindy, Amani and Marcus (switched) Laurence and Zac decided to use more buckets.
From there the teams head to BorobudurTemple. Once there they have to go in the International entrance and get a government issued sarong and hike up the temple.
Walking clockwise they have to count the Buddha’s with the hand gestures. They have to know how many of each hand there are and demonstrate the hands to get the clue. Laurence, Andy, Bill, Justin, Jeremy, Ernie, Marie, Lisa, Marcus
Laurence and Andy work together it took only 2 tries to get it right. On their way out Andy and Tommy see Marcus and Amani and tell them the answer. By time they get to the top Amani forgot what was said and was too winded to do the task. Marcus wasn’t paying attention and didn’t what was said. All the teams hook up to help each other except Marcus and Lisa, they hooked up and got the job done.
The teams must search the grounds to find the pit stop.
Laurence and Zac hit the matt first but due to the fact they use more buckets they had a 15 min penalty, Andy and Tommy hit the matt and get first place. They thank Zac and Laurence and tell them they owe them big time. They will hook them up with snowboarding gear if they want.
This is where the settling of taxis’ plays a roll. Some had more trouble finding their taxis then other. Having more trouble then the rest Kaylani and Lisa are the last to arrive and are eliminated
Next Week: They go to Thailand they face a share rock face and spend time on the beach.
So till then make sure you read your clues my racing peeps.
I don't understand why everyone went to the cab first before checking in with Phil. It seems like checking in would be most important and then go pay the cab and get the bags. Maybe there is a rule against that.
I'm glad that Marcus and Amani didn't give up. I thought they were ridiculous for changing tasks, when it would have been easier just to restuff the sacks and go back, though.
15 minute penalty. No trip for you. Too bad for Zac and his Dad.
Really interesting to know that most teams really had to work together to get the Buddhas done. I wanted to know how the four that collaborated decided what order they'd go to give the answer. I'd also be interested to know how long that task took.

My understanding from prior episodes is that you do have to settle with the cab prior to checking in.

I believe you have to settle up with your cab before checking in. In previous seasons that has tripped up teams. Remember the year a couple didn't have enough money to pay, at the final pit stop?

That's what we thought. Surely topping off a bag of grass was quicker than planting 300 pieces of rice.

A "real time ticker" would have been great in that segment.
I also was worried when Amani & Marcus changed tasks rather than just getting a bit more grass! (they're my team!) They got lucky - in part because they thought they were so late, they wouldn't need the cab after the temple and let the cab go. And then when they were given the answer, but couldn't remember?! I was sure they were out!
I like the snowboarders, and Lawrence & Zac.
Glad the siblings didn't spend the whole episode arguing - at least not what the editors included!

Great show last night. I like the fact that they are putting in more challanging things to do. I was abit concerned about the bike and my team.
I thought Amani and Marcus were gone but so glad they weren't.
Phil had to do abit of counseling last night at the end but I am not disappointed to see them gone.
I like the snowboarders too. They seem to be on the ball the most, and really thinking things through. They are giving snowboarders stereotypes a boot, which is great. And I was shocked when they said they were married.
I am liking this season. I thought it would get old, but it seems to be getting better, thankgoodness!!!
