I finished the first book of the year. Dean Koontz's The Husband. It was my first Koontz book and I struggled with the psychobabbling bad guy. Since I committed to reading Koontz this month (for my book club books of the month), I will start on Sieze the Night.
Okay--so I know it sounds scary, but my goal for this year is going to be 150 books. I'm already doing well. I've finished
1. The Drop by Michael Connelly
2. Stirred by Blake Crouch
3. Explosive 18 by Janet Evanovich (I've decided to reread the whole series now that there's a movie coming out)
4. 1 for the Money By JE
5. 2 for the Dough
6. The List by JA Konrath
I'm working on 3 to Get Deadly, Witch and Wizard by James Petterson and Persuasion by Jane Austin.

That's three books a week. Are you going to have time for anythng else? . Good reading to you!
My goal is going to be 36 for the year at this time. I have finished my first, "Kingdom Keepers 4". I know it is a young adult book, but it is so much fine to read when you are so familiar with WDW!
I feel guilty when I read -- so much else I should be doing -- so we'll see how this goes.
I have no idea what a reasonable number is, so I'll start with a goal of 25 and up it if need be.

Reason: new title on the list
A charming old-fashioned children's book about a girl, a unicorn and an adventure. When I say old-fashioned I mean it's written in the same sort of style as things like The Secret Garden and the 'What Katy Did' books - simple heart-warming stories with beautiful use of language and very descriptive. For some reason I've always loved reading detailed descriptions/lists of things such as what the characters are wearing, or of a room or all the delightful things on the tea table (if you've read What Katy Did At School, then the scene where they unpack the parcel from home and describe all the goodies inside from the other siblings and co is one of my favourites!). The Little White Horse does this wonderfully, a lovely story that leaves you with a nice warm feeling inside.

Tinkerboo Bring on Reading Challenge 2013 - 29/100 so far!
Even though I planned for this to be Dean Koontz month, I had an opportunity to pick up Christmas Wedding by James Patterson and I read it in less than a day. It is easy to read, low drama, feel good book. Good for a chilly January. So January 11th and I am 2 books to my goal of 58.
I'm new to the Reading Challenge, but I think it's right up my alley... my resolution for this year was to read more! That shouldn't be too hard though, seeing as I read a whopping ZERO books last year.
My goal is going to be 50 books... so fingers crossed!
So far:
1) A Christmas Carol - Charles Dickens
2-8) Harry Potter Series - JK Rowling
