The teams are off to Germany. They have to take a train to Innsbruck, Austria and then drive themselves across the boarder to Bavaria and find the Gasthof Zum Rassen restaurant. There they must find the roving gnome for their next clue.
Fairy Tale: teams must follow a trail of gingerbread and pick them up to a village. They then use the pieces to complete a gingerbread house, The witch gives them the clue.
Brandon & Rachel, Kerri & Stacy, Mark & Bopper
Championship Male: they must style a man’s beard into a winning look.
Mark and Bopper must join in an old fashioned Yodel. They even dress in the cloths. Then they move on to the Detour.
Next they must find the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty’s castle. At Neushwanstein castle them must then locate Ludwig’s bedroom to get the next clue.
Vanessa has a melt down on the way up the hill to the castle.
The teams must now drive themselves to a near by town and find the Hokey & Curling ring.
Who’s ready to put it on ice?
One team member must play curl with the gnome, sliding him and land him in the center of a bullseye.
Art, Danny (I think), Ralph, Nary, Brandon, Rachel, Kerri, Mark
They must now make their way to Landhannes Farm, a 200 year old dairy farm.
Art & JJ get a threepeat. Then when Brandon & Rachel make the mat, Brandon jumps on the mat and falls over, saying holy manure. Phil made a point to ask the teams to jump on the mat since last season no one jumped on the mat and there was an over whelming complaint about it.
Kerri and Stacy had a leg of bad directions and land in last place. I’m not sure if I ma sad to see them go or not.
So next week they go through fire, water, and a day at the spa.
Till then watch the manure and practice your beard styling skills my racing peeps.
We always pick which Detour we'd do if it was us. DD said last night that picking the Beard Styling would have been her choice. You can always make gingerbread house, but it's a once in a lifetime chance to style a beard (most likely), she said.
That was fun watching Mark and Bopper sing along with the Yodelers. A fun Speed Bump.
Well, my guesses were wrong again. I'm sorry to see the Alabama girls go at this point. Art and JJ are going to be hard to beat this season.
I need to visit that area...two castles within walking distance of each other? Wow. So pretty too.
It was a good leg again. Not as exciting as with the cowboys. They didn't focus so much on Rachel and her boyfriend which is good-just a barely crying part.. I am glad that Mark and Bopper are both in it still. Glad the basketball player wifes are gone. It was the right team to go at this point. I like the team that won even though they aren't my team. None of them felt weird playing with the beards...that would have been weird for me, but it was the easier one of the two.
I'm glad Kentucky is still in the game.... I also took notice that Rachael and Brendon were shown very little this episode.... It was a good episode and I look forward to next week
The KY team is growing on me, but I also like the border patrol guys. Really, Vanessa and Rachel are the 2 fraying my nerves, so those 2 teams can go. Would have liked to see Rachel fall on her butt on the mat.
So, anyone thinking beard-styling would be a great new career?
Agree that Bavaria looked gorgeous! But thought the gingerbread task would have been tough in the snow....

Yeah, I agree about Rachel falling on the mat, but then she would start crying all over again. I hope they are off next week. I still think they will make it to the top 3 because CBS will give them "non elimination" round if they come in last. Border patrol guys are my favorites, followed by KY.

About Non ellimnation rounds. Phil says they are predetermined. Someone on twitter thought that Bopper and Mark where handed thiers.
You can see a bit of a pattern to the elimination rounds, in a way. They usually have one around the 3rd-5th legs. Before Mark and Bopper even got there, I predicted (to my family) that it would be that round. And toward the end, you know there will be one with about 4 teams left in the game. The third one is somewhere between those two.
I honestly believe that they are set beforehand. I think it would be too difficult for the producers and those that run the game to throw one in just anywhere. They need to know how many teams will be in each leg for logistics, I'd think. Plus, they have to have a Speed Bump ready to go the next day. That's just not possible to set up at the last second.
