Dark Side of Disney Book

I just finished reading this book. I loved it! They have great tips, plus some entertaining stories. His monorail bar hopping trail seemed like a great way to enjoy the night. Makes me wish I was a local so I could do it. Anyone else read this book?

Don't be turned off by the cover. It was a very easy and entertaining read. I read it in 2 days. One of the most entertaining books I've read in a good while. Well....the hunger games trilogy was pretty good too.

lol...don't forget the haunted mansion 1am rides! He kept mentioning skyway...is that different than the MK transit authority people mover?

The utildors thing was quite interesting. I didn't realize so many people were so bold.

He did say that you should not sneak into Disney World, and that nowadays its almost impossible. And you run the risk of getting banned for life. His monorail bar tour seems like a lot of fun...I like that he appreciates the magic of Disney, but at the same time he likes to get a little crazy.

I read the book in two sittings on the same day. Really enjoyed it. The author also has a bunch of videos on YouTube. You think it's bold that he snuck down there? He did it with a video camera at least once years ago, and they weren't always pocket sized

I got the book as a gift but haven't gotten around to reading it. The intro made me wonder if I would even like it , but now that I've heard it's pretty good, I'll have to give it a shot.

yes, i do think its bold.

good point about camera size. supposedly, alot of people walk down there. he described one guy in the book who walked down there for months...even getting a hair cut to match the other employees. He even ate in the cafeteria down there.

I've heard cast members say the utilidors are about as exciting as your concrete basement.

As a former CM, I can tell you that any CM is supposed to ask those in backstage areas that aren't in costume or with their ID/name badge visible, for their credentials to make sure they are supposed to be there. I was shocked to hear that he got away with so much.

Yes. The Skyway was a gondola-type cable-car ride that went over Fantasy Land. It started at the Swiss Chalet (where there is stroller parking for Small World and Peter Pan, now) and took people in small cars over to TomorrowLand to a building between Carousel of Progress and Space Mountain (no longer there). On the way, you could look down and watch people as you "flew" over the rest of the attractions!
It was slow loading and had somewhat frequent break-downs. For those of us with kids in wheelchairs, it was difficult as we had to carry DD up the stairs to enter it, and ride a round-trip to get back to the wheelchair. This made a lot of people on the other side angry! I think it just couldn't load enough people to justify the expense of manning it and running it. Plus, it never really stopped - it would slow and you'd have to jump on!
