On the news...

this morning (Good Morning America) they were talking about 4 men arrested overseas who they believe were Al-Qaeda operatives. They had videotapes on them that were made 2 years ago showing footage of 9 U.S. landmarks. Officials said they weren't typical "tourist" type videos; they showed these places from different angles, heights, etc. Then they told the places videoed: World Trade Center, Golden Gate Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, DISNEYLAND-CA, WALT DISNEY WORLD-ORLANDO, UNIVERSAL STUDIOS-ORLANDO. (sorry, I can't remember the other 2.)

It's very troubling to see video of your favorite vacation spot on a news segment regarding terrorism. Hopefully, with the vigilance of law enforcement, none of these other places will be affected. Did anyone else see this or hear about it?

Re: On the news...

Wow, that is really scary, but I think it's naive to think that any public or tourist attraction isn't vulnerable. It shouldn't change your plans, but it should just make you be more aware.

It is scary. Wasn't one of them the Sears Tower in Chicago. I think I did hear something about this. Very scary

Re: On the news...

Yes, the Sears Tower was one of the others (Thank you!) All of the places have been named since Sept. 11th as possible targets, so I wasn't shocked, but to know they were "cased" by video 2 years ago was creepy and sad.

That is so scary. I wish there were some way to stop all this madness. Everyday I am waiting to see what will happen next. (Praying Nothing).
