| "Pirates" overtakes "Matrix" as #2 summer movie! Weekend box office numbers are out, and on Sunday Pirates overtook Matrix Reloaded as the number two top grossing movie of the summer (domestic numbers only). Disney now holds both the #1 (Nemo) and #2 slots for summer 2003...comps here at boxofficemojo. Way to go DIS! |

| Re: "Pirates" overtakes "Matrix" as #2 summer movie! Actually, I gotta rephrase that, it overtook it in terms of day by day totals. But Matrix's numbers were all based on it's ridiculous opening weekend and had no legs at all. So Pirates has overtaken it on long term day by day totals, and will absolutely overtake take it shortly in terms of total box office gross. A phenomenal summer for Disney. Haunted Mansion has some awfully big shoes to fill [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img] |
