Lost 10/20 - help! I missed the first 20 minutes - grrr! Anyway, I had a glare on my TV and missed something and need an answer. When Jack was looking in the coffin, was his dad's body in it or not??? It happened so fast, I couldn't move in time to get the glare off to see. I'm assuming not since he took something and busted the coffin up! Do you think he came back to life???? If the old guy was healed, why not Jack's dad??? Or was he hallucinating?

Re: Lost 10/20 - help! His body was not in the coffin. I have been following all the theories posted on the msg board on the ABC webpage and I'm really starting to buy the idea that maybe the island shows people their hopes and fears. It makes sense in a lot of ways. I just love this show and the way it keeps you on your toes!

Re: Lost 10/20 - help! Ok, so we were putting our DD to sleep last night and missed the conversation between Jack and his Mom. What happened? I came in where he said "I can't" and she went off on him. What happened? Yeah, once I saw that thread on ABC, I got hooked on that one too! I think the theory above is right! Linda

Re: Lost 10/20 - help! All right, I taped last night's episode and watched it twice (ooh...that sounds a little obsessed doesn't it?) But the girl who drowned was someone who had crashed with the rest of them and it was just someone that we hadn't seen before. Jack said something about how'd they'd all been on the island for 6 days and he didn't even know who she was. And, even though I have watched it twice, I still don't really know what happened between Jack and his dad. I don't think they ever specified exactly what it was. Just like the show...always keeping us guessing! Did I just miss it (twice)? Does anyone have any ideas what it could be??

Re: Lost 10/20 - help! First they show us Jack with his Dad when Jack is a little kid and his Dad is being a jerk to him. Then they show us the conversation with Jack and his mom. His mom tells him that he has to go get his Dad and he says he will come back and she says not this time and then he says he can't. But he does because then they show us the scenes in Sydney of Jack discovering his father was dead. I expect we will be fed more info as it progresses. If the island shows each persons hopes and fears why do they all keep "seeing " the same monster-thingy? And what was up with the polar bear from an earlier episode? Why aren't they all talking about that? My DH thinks that they all actually died on the plane and that they are in hell right now ![]() ps...did anyone who watches the West Wing notice that the old guy (the one who had been in a wheelchair before the crash) also plays a general on that show too?

Re: Lost 10/20 - help! I missed the first 20 mins. myself. Darn laundry ! I read an interesting theory on the ABC board about how when Locke said he had looked into the eye of the island and it was beautiful that the theory is that the French woman crashed as a child (the dolls) and is now 16 years older and it was her that Locke saw. What do you think? Also, is it me, or did anyone notice the very last scene when Jack was on the beach talking to Kate with the plane wreckage in the background. The windows in the plane were flickering with light. Do you think that was just fires on the beach reflecting the light or was that a clue of things to come? I'm so hooked on this show ! Sue

Re: Lost 10/20 - help! I have a theory. I think the island is about 2nd chances. Mr. Locke, obviously, and Kate - but also Michael and Walter, who are not close right now. Jack and his Dad - I don't think the dad came back to life or wouldn't Jack have brought him back to camp? I think a "spirit" of his dad was there and they healed old wounds. Charlie, the drug addict could get a second chance to save his own life and I'm wondering if the Korean couple might have something in their past that is going to be addressed. Anyway, just my guess. I still say Sawyer is one hot sexy dirtbag, though.

And what was up with the polar bear from an earlier episode? Why aren't they all talking about that? [/ QUOTE ] On the ABC board, someone said the island is the manifestation of their fears/thoughts. The Polar Bear- The first episode when Walt was leafing through a comic book his father asked him if he could read spanish. Then the camera shows the comic book pages. On those pages were a Polar Bear attacking (or something like that.) I missed that the first 2x's I watched it. I will have to keep my eyes open this Saturday to see for myself! ![]() The monster thing- has anyone actually "Seen" it? Every one when questioned says they didn't. Even Charlie made mention after the polar bear that there was no way the bear did what he saw done to the pilot. Locke said he didn't see it either. But.... he did say last night that he saw into the eye of the island and it was 'beautiful'. Strange! I think, if this theory is right, that Jack's fear was failing his father. I loved Locke's comments to Jack about leading. It was the fatherly comments Jack needed his whole life. Also I think there is something to the fact that Jack's dad lead Jack to the water. Kinda creepy that the waterfall was right next to the coffin. Even creepier was there was no body in the coffin. Man, was I glad I used the ladies room before that part of the show! ![]() I think the dolls that were seen around the coffin were from the Oceanic (the LOST plane) cargo. Since they were found all about the area. My vote for best new show of the season! Linda |

Re: Lost 10/20 - help! Well I have no idea about the show anymore but admit I haven't watched all of the episodes but I thought he was on his way to get his dad and the plane crashed and that his father had died and he was taking to coffin to him? But from reading what you all say that isn't it so I have no idea.
