Desperate Housewives rant!

What is ABC's problem? They get a big hit tv show like Desperate Housewives and what do they do? They either show reruns or ridiculous tv movies in its place!! I am tired of getting ready every Sunday night for an hour of D.H. and then "Dynasty" tv movie is on - a movie that every cast member of Dynasty denounced as garbage and false anyway! Sounds like a recipe for failure - people will get tired of not seeing this show and stop looking for it.

The last show I saw was when the model's husband was arrested and Lynette was hiring a nanny and Brie's son was caught with the drugs. Then I missed the next episode and I have no idea what's going on now!

Re: Desperate Housewives rant!

It is frustrating. Though I don't watch Desperate Housewives, watched it once and could not like it, sorry
But I know that all the shows I do like have all been repeats ugh. For almost a month now. Seems like each season gets shorter in "new" shows. There are more repeats during the season. I bet teh stars saleries don't get shorter though

Re: Desperate Housewives rant!

I agree also.
I got all set last night for it and there was that lame DyNASTY thing on. The same thing is happening with Lost. And your right about the network losing viewers, I was thinking last night that I don't even remember what is going on and I might not bother to watch again.

I was thinking that maybe the reason is that ABC did not order that many episodes to begin with, not knowing if it would be a hit or a flop. I don't know for sure on that, I'm just guessing.

Seems new shows will start airing staring around the time I'm in Disney.

I'm so sick of the repeats as well.

Anyone for a class action lawsuit? LOL
Desparate housewife viewers vs ABC
What is up with Dynasty? I got DD all snuggled in bed, got popcorn, curled up with American Dreams and at 9 switched over and I got Dynasty. Ended up checking mail and bed.
I heard next week. Fingers crossed. I am ranting too.

Re: Desperate Housewives rant!

At risk of playing Devil's Advocate, may I offer the following opinions:

1. Desperate Housewives has been touted as the successor of the nighttime soap opera genre, and likened to Dynasty and its kind. I think ABC thought that if people liked D.H., they MUST have liked Dynasty, and created that movie to fill in the gap where they ordinarily would have shown repeats (reruns are common in December when most people are doing the family/holiday thing and don't traditionally watch as much tv). Obviously, they were wrong. I didn't watch it (the Dynasty movie). The commercials were enough for me, thank you! I'm glad to see that we'll be getting a new D.H. episode this weekend.

2. Lost. I admit to being one of those viewers who tuned in late and did not see the first few episodes. DH watched it, but I didn't get hooked until maybe episode 4. I'm glad they showed reruns...it gave me the opportunity to catch up. Now, with Alias on Wednesdays, Wednesday has become the "Must See" night for us. We were in heaven last night!!

Okay, that's it. That's my 2 cents worth!

Re: Desperate Housewives rant!

I was ready to watch DH (last week I think) and it was the first show in the series. Which was OK b/c I missed some of it the first time they showed it. The new show tonight introduces the sister of the busy-body lady who was murdered.(can't remember her name)Tina, During the time Third Watch was not on, I got hooked on JAG again so Friday night I chose to tape JAG instead of TW while we were at dinner with some friends.

Re: Desperate Housewives rant!

I heard she is twice the bitch her sister ever was. Seems to remind me of a movie where if you didn't like the East witch wait until you see her sister. The wicked witch of the west. Going to be a fun nite of watching. I am getting DD ready for bed and jumping in front of the tube.
