My Super Sweet 16 on MTV Has anyone else seen this show? Does anyone else find it just as disturbing as I do??? My 16th birthday was spent in my yard, with my friends throwing me fully clothed into my neighbors pool. Such a far cry from what these kids on the show are getting. Range Rovers...revealing dresses...half naked college guys carrying her in like an Egyptian Queen... ![]() YUK! Jennifer

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV Yea, I saw part of it and I also find it disturbing. Spoiled little rich girl. I just about died when I heard the total of her birthday, over $200,000.

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV My daughter, who is 17, watches this just because she can hardly believe these girls. We sit there and just laugh. It's so over the top. I'm glad my daughter knows that there are girls who are spoiled senseless and she seems to appreciate what she has so much more now! I hate when MTV has these type of shows on because it paints an unrealistic picture of what 99% of kids this age are all about. Believe me, they are not out spending $200,000 on Sweet 16 parties.

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV I watch this show all the time. My Sweet 16 was two years ago and at a club in the city. I had a nice dress and about 125 people there, friends and family. It cost no where near what these girls are spending and I had an amazing time. I can't stand the people they pick for these shows. They're spoiled brats and when that one girl started crying hysterically at her birthday dinner because her dad didn't buy her Range Rover yet I felt like going through the TV and smacking her, lmao!

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV We were actually watching this today b/c we were too lazy to get up and find the remote... Andy made the comment that the whole reason they show this is to make fun of how ridiculous these people are. It just gets on my nerves so I refuse to watch much of it.

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV Boy, I must have been a deprived child! For my Sweet 16, I had four friends come and sleep over and we ate pizza and watched "16 Candles" and, um, I'm embarassed to say this now, "Teenwolf". It coat my parents, $50, tops and we had a blast!

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV I caught one episode and couldn't believe how "spoiled" these girls were. This particular show took place in LaJolla, CA and when the one girl was getting ready, she was pretty much ordering her dad to go find her expensive designer shoes while she sat like a princess on a throne getting ready. Never in a million years would my DD a.) have a party like this and b.) order me to go find her designer shoes. What are these parents thinking?!

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV The girl who had the 200,000 dollar party needed to be slapped. Atleast that included the cost of the car. Did you guys see the boy who had his on a tennis court made into a club and hired girls to dance that were barely wearing anything. His party cost 250,000 and he said his dad would have let him spend up to 500,000. I usually love MTV shows but this one just pisses me off.

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV Yikes. I hope they really are able to afford that. Think how much college that could cover, or the nice house they could have bought for that money. What is the big deal about turning 16? I can't imagine anyone making such a big deal about a teenager's birthday in these days and times. It's not like they are debuting in society and looking for a husband like the really old days (and if they are....that is really sad). -HiddenMickey

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV Times have changed, lol. My mom didn't have a big Sweet 16, or any of my aunts, but now it's the big thing. I know in a lot of areas it's still not popular but here in NYC everyone has a big Sweet 16 or goes on a really extravegant vacation. I'll admit I went all out for mine 2 years ago, but it was nowhere near these spoiled brats on the show, lmao!

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV I saw this show for the first time this weekend. My gosh...I could not believe the dancing girls that were hired for that one kids party. He was doing shots of Red Bull and got sick...but once the dancing girls showed up he was well. I went to college with some woman from very wealthy families (I was one of the 11% of students on any form of financial aid at a college that costs almost $30,000 a year in the early 90's) only a handful of my friends from school were what I would consider spoiled. Many did throw hundreds around like they were dollar bills but they only did this because they didn't know any different. We all meshed well and had a great time experiencing life on our own for the first time even though we were from different sides of the "tracks". What disturbed me the most about this show was that the parents are almost pushing the kids to be party animals! The only thing missing from the party was alcohol...all the rest of the elements were there.

Re: My Super Sweet 16 on MTV I thought the show was really over the top. What I want to know is if they spent $200,000 on a "Sweet 16" party, what will her wedding cost???????!!!!???? (Her dress alone will probably cost $200,000 and then just listen to the cash register "cha ching" over and over again!)
