AFI Greatest Movie Songs #100 Another countdown I really enjoyed watching was the 100 Greatest Movie Songs of all time. There are 112 days until our trip, so I figured I could fit in the 100songs before we go. I LOVE music, and I love movies, so it was fun seeing which movie songs made the list There were quite a few from Disney films, as well as from new and classic films in American Cinema. Feel free to post your opinion on each song and film! How well do you think each song fits with the film? Does each song remind you of a certain scene, or the film in general, each time you hear it? #100 - "Old Time Rock and Roll" by Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band (Ricky Business, 1983) Lyrics Just take those old records off the shelf, I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself, Today's music ain't got the same soul, I like that old time rock and roll. Don't try and take me to a disco, You'll never even get me out on the floor, In ten minutes I'll be late for the door, I like that old time rock and roll. Still like that old time rock and roll, That kind of music just soothes my soul, I reminisce about the days of old, With that old time rock and roll. Won't go and hear 'em play a tango, I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul, There's only one sure way to get me to go, Start playin' old time rock and roll. Still like that old time rock and roll, That kind of music just soothes my soul, I reminisce about the days of old, With that old time rock and roll. Call me a relic call me what you will, Say I'm old fashioned say I'm over the hill. Today's music ain't got the same soul, I like that old time rock and roll. Still like that old time rock and roll, That kind of music just soothes my soul, I reminisce about the days of old, With that old time rock and roll. I love this song! It's so much fun to sing along to when you're hitting the open road, driving down the highway on your way to somewhere fun. I've only seen Risky Business once, and it wasn't my favorite (I always hated Tom Cruise), so this dong doesn't really remind me of the film. I love it, though! It's interesting that the song is such a classic now, but it only reached as high as #28 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts back in 1979

Re: AFI Greatest Movie Songs #100 Absolutely love the song and I'll admit that I still go skating across the floor in my socks just like Cruise did in Risky Business.

Re: AFI Greatest Movie Songs #100 This song is HORRIBLE. I expressly requested the DJ at my wedding not to play this song.
