| Bonds Indicted! Guess I know what'll be on sports talk radio in the Bay Area tonight (and for the next two weeks.) Not like there's anything good to say about the Niners, Raiders, or Warriors either. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. In San Francisco, it felt like a witch hunt the last four years. Plus, Zack and I were lucky to be present at many of the big homeruns: 500, 600, 660, and 700, and when he broke the single season record in 2001. Sad that all those amazing memories are tainted now.

| Not suprised :, but will get bored as this will probably drag on forever like other athlete stories. Now to the important stuff... can our beloved Giants find some hitters this off season

| I think it's so sad.. what is/was a stellar career will always be tainted by this.. I know a lot of fans in Pittsburgh have a strong dislike for Bonds but I was always indifferent.. heck.. he followed the money, who wouldn't?? but we Pittsburghres are love em or hate em fans.. there is no in between ( & that too is so sad!) Unfortunately, he will always have the ** & 'what if's"

| If Bud Selig would have stepped up to a podium 5 years ago and said..."We have now and have in the past had a problem with steroids in our sport. We will fix the problems and start testing."...None of this would have happened. I am NOT a Barry Bonds fan but this witch hunt is ridiculous. Baseball (Selig) got congress involved and then hired George Mitchell as an independent investigator into steroid use. Mr. Mitchell is on the board of directors for the Boston Red Sox. How's that for a conflict of interest? None of this passes the smell test. Now the feds have indicted Bonds for perjury. Enough testimony was leaked during grand jury proceedings to write a book. The whole thing just stinks. For the record, I think Barry Bonds took steroids, along with a LOT of other people. The generation before was eating amphetamines(They called them Greenies) like candy. The generation before that had serious alcohol problems. The NFL has had problems too. The difference is that the NFL moved on without getting congress or independent investigators involved. I wish MLB would have done the same thing. Barry |

I think most of us would agree that this is not an isolated problem. I am sure that there are many who have taken illegal drugs to enhance their performance. What bothers me is Barry Bonds is so INSISTANT that he took zero enhancement drugs, despite so much evidence to the contrary. It is sad that he chooses not to live up to his mistakes. I would hate to see this turn into another Marion Jones story...wait several years and then confess...yikes, what a mess! | |
