Thought I'd start a thread, like we had at the end of last season, to share our

, joy and heartbreaks for all things Red Sox in the 2008 season!!!

We're off to a great start, even if it was a bit of a struggle!!! My dad was very quick to tell me on the phone this afternoon that we're in 1st place!

Here's hoping we hang onto it like we did last year.

While Matsuzaka had a tough go of it the first couple of innings, it was nice to see him get those 5 or 6 SOs in a row a bit later in the game! And, Hideki Okajima is still awesome!!

Here I am - member of Red Sox Nation North. Being from Mass., I'm a born and bred Sox fan. Games were always on TV38 or on the radio in our house (and relatives).

Thought I died and gone to heaven after we won in 2004 especially after the year we heartbreakingly lost in extras to the Yanks. My heart was so broke, I couldn't talk to anyone about it without starting to cry. My neighbours, I think, thought I was nuts.

Couldn't believe we won again(!!) last year!

So happy baseball season is back - I do follow all my other Boston teams too! Can't wait to get some feeds from NESN. I

Jerry! Especially those games (usually late ones or on Friday nights) where he and Don Orsillo loose it and laugh like hyenas, or Muttly - that's who I think Jerry laughs like.

Glad we got off to a good start yesterday. Wasn't so sure after Dice-K was sweating profusely and grabbing at his neck in the first inning!

Mets fan here, but I think all you Sawks fans should know that a lot of the sports magazines now refer to the Sox the "New Yankees." (Don't shoot the messenger

It's been mentioned on the news, but I don't see it as a negative. The way I understood the information is that the Yankees used to be the most popular baseball team....'the nation's team' was specifically cited. Supposedly, the tides have turned and the Red Sox have 'replaced' the Yankees as the nation's team. In watching nearly every game on television, I have found that it is not uncommon for Red Sox fans to outnumber the home team's fans, when they are on the road. Will that always be the case, who knows....times change. I'm just enjoying them the way I always have for the past 40 years!

Ok it has to be said that I LOVE the Sox. This is hopefully going to be my year to actually see them. That out of the way, I'm not entirely comfortable with being at the top so early in the season. What with injuries and everything, there's no place to go but down. I prefer the more exciting C L I M B to the top.
