| NASCAR fans? Anyone hear that Mark Martin is leaving DEI for Hendrick after this season?? Just heard it - not a reliable source - so I'm just wondering

| I just called DH at work (no 911 calls coming in  ) and this is what he said:He was only supposed to race this year part time for DEI, with some other guy running the rest of the races. This was going to be his last year racing. It seems like Hendrick must have wanted him because someone is leaving. So, Hendrick is giving Mark a 2 year contract to run full time with a good team. He'll be driving the number 5 car to try and win a championship. DH said it is only a 2 year deal, that they just announced it and he just heard about it today. Here is the article he just started reading to me from the NASCAR website Mark MartinI don't follow NASCAR like I do the Red Sox. I do enjoy going to the races, but only if there are a lot of crashes! This past Sunday in NH was a good one for that! Hope this helped!!

| Yeah he is replacing Casey Mears on the Hendrick team for 2 years starting with the 2009 season. Retirement must not have been agreeable to him yet.

| I just asked Luke, my NASCAR authority, and he just repeated everything that has already been said here. Mark Martin is one of my favorites.

| My DH told me about it last night. Mark Martin is a classy guy, but being true Earnhardt fans, it gives me shivers that he is going to Hendrick. My DH and I still have not recovered from Dale Jr. moving to Hendrick. We have always been huge racing fans, but this year, it just doesn't seem the same. Best wishes to Martin, he deserves to have a great ride and a great team as long as he is wanting to drive. Hey Judi, take a look at our countdowns, it's almost here! Our kids start school August 1, so I'm rushing them along to get school going again so we can go on our trip!!! They don't appreciate it very much, but then they realize why. We can offically say we are leaving NEXT MONTH!!!!!
