| I can't say I am surprised, really, because there had been buzzing about it for some time, but still . . .  I bet the travelling, ESPECIALLY via bus as he does, would just be more and more difficult in his "advanced" age.  Football just won't sound the same . . . I felt the same way when Keith Jackson retired.

| I will miss his commentary on games, but since DH plays all the Madden Video Games for either his PSP or XBox 360, we'll still get to hear his voice. Happy Retirement John Madden. |

| Football will never be the same..hearing his voice always puts me into Christmas and New Year mood. Will be continue to make the video games??

| My FIL was in complete shock as he didn't hear the news until DH got home from work and told him. Football most certainly won't be the same without him, but at least those of us who had the opportunity to listen to his commentary through out his career were truely blessed and touched to remember his name with football  |

| I'm to see the John Madden's bus stop! It was a great ride! I read an article that he'll be celebrating his 50th anniversary with his wife. He also said he was married to football for over 40 years. He was selected by the Eagles in the draft, but blew out his knee as a rookie. I think DH always thought of him as an Eagle! But I'll remember him as being at my Steeler's super bowl as his last telecast!  Bye, John Madden! I'll miss you!
