| WDW Pregnant? I literally just found out five minutes ago that my wife is prgenant, and is due around Dec 9th. Now I'm concerned about going to WDW in Sept. Will she even be able to ride any rides? Has anyone ever went pregnant and had fun? She says that she isn't worried about it because we are going for the kids anyway. Any advice from anyone?
Thanks,
Michael |

I've never been pregnant, but I do have advice. There is a section on this in the Special Needs book. Looks like many of the rides are fine. Just have her stay away from more of the 'thrill' rides.
Tell her to rest a lot and drink plenty of water. Just make sure she doesn't over do it.
I've read of many women on here going when they've been pregnant, I'm sure they'll give you great advice. |

| Re: WDW Pregnant? Congratulations!!! I am due around that time also. We had planned to go for Mousefest but it will have to wait until next year. I was wondering about going in late Aug. early Sept. too.

Going to WDW while pregnant is totally do-able! Just make sure she takes it easy and avoid the "thrill" rides. There's so much else to see and do! |

| Re: WDW Pregnant? Thank you everyone!!
This one was totally unexpected. She "had" fertility problems! That doesn't seem the case anymore! When I orginally planned our trip, I had her in mind also since she has never been there. Now I'm going to have to rearrange some of our stuff. If anyone else has any tips or advice, it would be greatly appreciated. I think I going to have to go out and get the Special Needs Passporter too.
Thanks,
Michael |

| Re: WDW Pregnant? I went in '04 while pregnant and had a wonderful time. I was able to enjoy the food WAAAYYY more than I normally did. The only downside was having to take a few more breaks than normal and having to avoid a couple of my favorite rides. I just stayed away from the REALLY rough rides (Primeval Whirl, Dinosaur, Space Mountain, BTMRR) but didn't have any problems on rides like Splash Mountain. |

| Re: WDW Pregnant? COngrats! I went when I was 5 months PG and it was great. Just tell her to remember to take her time and stay hydrated. There are tons of ride that you can still go on - just not the thrill ones. |

| Re: WDW Pregnant? I went to WDW at about 5 1/2 months pregnant in October 2002 and had a great time. As previous posters have noted, your wife should be able to ride everything but the "thrill" rides with posted warnings, which are a minority of the attractions. A few tips:
Make sure she gets plenty to drink. It may still be hot in September, and even if it's not, hydration will be really important. I had to stop and rest in Animal Kingdom because I felt wiped out, then I realized I hadn't had anything to drink in a couple of hours. A stop at a water fountain perked me back up quickly.
If you want to go on rides that your wife can't ride, she can accompany you through the queue and just let the Cast Memebers know that she doesn't intend to ride. The CMs will then show her where she can wait for you near the exit. I did this at Dinosaur and Star Tours, but I'm sure it works for any ride. This allowed me to keep my husband and son company in line and enjoy the pre-ride theming, with only a brief "waiting period" before they rejoined me.
Make sure your wife has comfortable walking shoes. I don't really know if it was related to the increased weight of being pregnant, but I developed blisters as I'd never had before. I was glad we'd brought moleskin to prevent their getting worse.
Congratulations and happy planning!

| Re: WDW Pregnant? I just got back yesterday and I am 7 1/2 months pregnant. I had a great time. Yes, it was hot and by the end of the day my feet were a little swollen. I got to do everything but the thrill rides. I would just sit and rest when I needed to. Good luck. She will be fine. |
