| I\'m creating a \"Plan a Disney Trip\" Project for my students! Okay, I've decided to creat a "Plan a Disney Trip" project for my students. I want them to plan how they will get there, where they will stay, what kind of tickets they will buy, dining plan yes or no, a budget for how much they'll spend daily, where they will go, what they will do, etc. I want this to be educational yet fun. And, it wouldn't hurt the kids to get a dose of reality on prices.
So, what I would LOVE to get is park maps, resort brochures, etc. But I need A LOT. Like enough for a class.
Do you think there is somebody at Disney I could write too and request this? Does anybody have any ideas? I'd rather make this hands on, and not in a computer lab since our labs are full due to some technology issues at our school. (they installed an incompatible server. Smart!)
Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated. |

| Re: I\'m creating a \"Plan a Disney Trip\" Project for my students! Generally, Disney doesn't give out the maps -- when guests request them by phone or mail, they are told it's not something they do.
Perhaps you could contact someone in WDW PR or education and see what they can do for you...

Great hands-on math project, plus research, etc. I would have them figure the cost for a family. Include also the meals, make them select some resturants, etc. and the cost. My son Ryan did this as a project a couple of years ago. It really helped him realize how much money is needed to go to Disney plus he loved doing it. |

| Re: I\'m creating a \"Plan a Disney Trip\" Project for my students! actually, i had read there is an address to write to where you can request maps. i don't know if they'd send you a bunch though.
i would think when they change maps, they're left with a ton (or two) of old, unusable maps. what they do with them, i don't know, but maybe there's a bunch sitting somewhere that are available.
you might want to try calling 407-WDW-INFO and see if an operator can set you off in the right direction. |

| Re: I\'m creating a \"Plan a Disney Trip\" Project for my students! Matt, I did this project with my kids two years ago... I don't have any more maps... but I had called Disney Youth Programs @ 1-800-833-9806. This is the unit that plans group trips to Disney and I think they saw it as a marketing tool, so they were glad to send them along!
Good luck with the new school year! We start today!! (I'm actually typing this a bout two minutes before homeroom starts!) |
