Idea that I want to share about Passporter Pockets
While on vacation, I like to carry my Passporter Pocket for each respective day in my backpack so that I can collect misc. receipts, stickers, etc. in it and stay relatively organized. My problem has been in the past that by the days' end, my Passporter Pockets gets kinda dog-eared and worn looking from taking it in/out of the backpack or just general jostling about in the backpack.... so I was trying to think of a way to prevent this wear and keep my pockets looking pristine.
I raided my kids school supply closet and found a Heavy-duty Clear Report Cover with Side Slide Grip. I just cut the clear covers and slide grip to Passporter page size and made it fit perfectly! Now, not only can my pockets have a little more protection, I can also carry some of those handy-dandy new worksheets that Jennifer has been creating for PassPorter's Club passholders - Like Vacation At-a-glance -or- the Pressed Penny one so I can keep track of my kids penny pressing!
So, anyway, I thought maybe someone else might be having the same problem and I thought I'd share my solution.... Hope it works for you too!!
Well, now that is an excellent idea. So do any of you carry the whole passporter with you then? I would like to carry it just for the map? Do I need it?
I carry my deluxe PassPorter with just the worksheets and passpockets I think I'll need for the day. Everything else gets tucked into my carry-on back at the room for the day.
That's a great idea! On our last trip I just carried a 5x8 index card, folded so it was in three parts. On one flap I had park hours, dining times, etc. One flap was for expenses, and one for general notes. The inside lined portion was just perfect for taking a few notes each day to write the trip report. Worked like a charm!
How ! I'm going to try that this trip as I've been afraid to carry the pockets because I want them to stay in pristine shape, but the cover would protect it and then I won't be sorting through my bag each evening for all the crazy places I've tucked receipts.

i love the passporter! i used to drag the whole book with me to the parks each day but now i, too, remove the pocket and pages relating to the park i'll be in that day. my dream is for there to be a mini-version so it will easily fit in a fanny pack but it would be big enough to hold receipts and to write the days activities.
