We are going to be at WDW November 6th-13th. The first night of The MVMCP is on November 8th. I was wondering what the opinions of others is, about going on the very first night of the MVMCP. I was thinking if we went on the 8th (Tuesday) and it ended up raining and being cancelled then we would have another night (Thursday or Friday) to go. However if it does rain do they cancel and if so do they give a rain delay. I am thinking they do not. We have been to the MVMCP before and had a blast and no problems from Mother Nature, also the same when we did the Not so Scary Halloween Party. So I guess my main question is, Do you think the first night of the season for the MVMCP is going to be a good idea. Disney is Magic and I am sure they will have all of there acts together. Just wondering what I should do.
Thanks everyone. I will talk to the other 10 people going with us and see what they think. Has anyone been the first week that they start the MVMCP. We went in December the first time we did the MVMCP and all the decorations were up at all of the parks. Are all the decorations going to be up while we are there, or will they still be decorating. I have watched a thing on the travel channel about the Christmas Party and the decorations and it said that they are decorating all the way up until the week of Thanksgiving.
MK is as fully decorated decorated as it gets by then. The other parks / resorts catch up later in the month. I think Osborne Lights are last; it debuts the Saturday after Thanksgiving

Last year the first day of the Osborn Lights was on November 10th.
Oh I already know they won't have everything up. We went in December 07 and we saw everything. My mom, dad, grandparents (all three of them), my best friend, her son (my other son), and my best friends mother (my second mom) are all going with us in November and they haven't been for Christmas yet. I just wanted to make sure they would get to at least experience the Magic Kingdom. But we are also going to catch the end of the W&F festival at Epcot and the Art Festival at DTD, that was our plan. So we are happy.
The special I watched on the travel channel said that they didn't finish decorations until the week of Thanksgiving. So I already knew they wouldn't have everything completed. However they said that they work on the MK first so I figure Main Street will at least be decorated for the MVMCP.
The first MVMCP is not a dress-rehearsal. Rest assured you are going to get the same parade and fireworks that later MVMCPs will have.
The parks are decorated first, and then the resorts, with the last resorts being decorated by Thanksgiving.
Great info! DH & I were just talking about this tonight. We made reservations that had us leaving on the 8th of Nov and then I saw that was the first night of MVMCP and thought maybe we should stay an extra night and get tickets.
Thanks very much!
