ok, went back to Casting again, and I can get a job IF I can prove I got a permanent residence here! so, anyone living in the lake buena vista/baylake/celebration area have a room to rent? the hunt is on!
I'm not blaming the vets at all, but, other people who is just as deserving should have a shot too! .. why not hire, 1000 retired police, firemen,or 9/11 EMTS? they all have contributed just as much as our vets.. or, in my personal example, disabled people who doesn't even have the ability or the right to enter the military service... people tend to forget about us, we want jobs too, and not just because we don't want to sit around at home trying to survive on a meager social security check with skyrocketing rent, food prices, etc..
it's just my standpoint.
I wasn't saying you were blaming the vets....only correcting your incorrect statement that the government takes care of vets for life. It doesn't. As a disabled military veteran, I get $127 A MONTH for a blown-out knee that happened because of my military service. I get medical treatment...for my knee only.....IF I get myself to a Veteran's Hospital and saying I can get an appointment.
It's amazing how low I can sink and how high you can fly the next day. I found a room! I'm staying in Orlando! it's like it was planned out for me. I just had to keep faith it was going to happen. I'm so excited to be a real CM, and not just a temporary one! I made a friend last summer, and talked to her, hung out with her, and boom, she moved to a apartment complex right next to my current one.
fast forward a few months, I was looking through roommate wanted ads on Craigslist, saw one that looked promising, called the number and surprised my friend. It's weird, a room shows up, just after Casting told me I would get a position if I can prove I have a place to live!
I've moved into a apartment, right across the street from the college program complex. I'm also pleased to announce, starting May 27, I'm going to be working in Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe!!!!!! I'm so excited! Disney didn't let me down! I'm embarking on a new chapter in my life, one that I'm happy in!
eventually, i hope to be able to obtain a full time role, and lessen my dependence on tax dollars, but this isn't possible right now. I'm just happy that I can afford my rent, school loans, and other bills.
the downside is, I'm on a 'break' until then, and no money coming in! however, I do still have access to Disney, so that's something at least. all my dreams has come true, and it made my world go around. I'm part of something that so many people want to be a part of.
Thanks Uncle Walt! I'm proud to be a part of your family!
