To those of you who have done the photo book: is it worth the money? I've tinkered with the interface and must admit I'm very tempted. I like how customizable it is. I'm hoping to end up with a lot of photopass pictures on my upcoming trip, even though it's going to be brief (3 days). For instance, I have the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique planned (for my 20th birthday! I hope I never grow up) and I know that can produce a lot of pictures. I also want to get some of the classics done (me and mom in front of Everest, the Tree of Life, the Sorcerer's Hat, ToT etc) as I haven't done them before.
Can you add your own personal photos to the book in addition to the photopass photos? Thanks in advance for your comments.
Yes you can add your own personal photos. YES it is worth the money if it is a special trip!! I say GO FOR IT!!! I have only done it once. I was there with my family for the first time (first for my DH and DSs) during Tropical Storm Fay in 2008. We were there for 8 days and I prepaid for the disc, but not the book. In 8 days we only got 30 pictures because the sun only came out for SIX hours! It was gray, cloudy, rainy, prehurricane weather the entire time we were there.
BUT it was our first (and so far only) family trip!! The book came out BEAUTIFUL!!! Between the Photopass pictures and My pictures, I have a great keepsake.
I go often, and would not buy it every time, but for a special event my answer is DEFINITELY
another vote for the photobook from me I think it's worth the money and is a great reminder of your trip. If you have plenty of photpass pics to choose from, it will make it a lot easier
I would say go for it- especially as it's a special occasion for you
We have a photobook and LOVE it!! You can add all of your personal pictures to it, as well as the photopass ones. I would go for it, especially since it is a special occassion trip. There is a preorder deal on the photopass website, if you preorder the Photopass CD and Book together, you get them both for $150.
We love our photobook. It is a easy way to show people your vacation pictures. My daughters look through daily to remind them of their vacation. It is totally worth the money.
My DH preordered the Photopass CD and book combo for our past 2 June trips. When we know we have preordered both, we make more of an effort to seek out photographers and photo ops, especially when we have limited the number of days we will be at Disney parks. We got to know one particular photographer on the 2009 trip and she helped us to be at the right place at the right time for a special photo op we would have missed otherwise. We love the fun page layouts and backgrounds available for the Photopass photobooks, too.
Since we had the 2 trips in 2010 that included attractions other than WDW and DH takes more than a thousand personal photos per trip, we also did a photobook with an on-line vendor. The pages on that photobook look more like a basic 4-to-a-page or 3-to-a-page photo album, probably because we attempted to fit as many photos into that book as we could. DH designed the photopass books to look more like keepsake scrapbooks than like photo chronicles of our trips.
Short answer--for us, it's definitely worth the price.

We haven't ordered the book yet but have ordered the CD on two trips. We love that all of us can be in the photos, as DW is usually the one behind the camera. The book sounds like a great idea. The one thing we hope is that the next time we do PhotoPass, the photos don't look so washed out. Mostly, these were in EPCOT on very bright days. Perhaps the photographers need to use a filter or otherwise adjust the settings. By contrast (no pun intended), we were in Hong Kong Disneyland about three years ago on a rainy day. The photos - both from the Disney photographers and DW- were some of the warmest and best we have ever gotten at the Disney Parks.

Great question! I have wondered about the book myself. We have ordered the CD the last 2 trips, and are ordering it again this fall, and it is well worth the money. Is there a maximum number of pictures/pages that can go into the photobook?
We love our book!! It is definately worth the $50. You can use your own pictures. I believe there is so many pages though...if you are getting the pre-order with CD. You can put up to 4 pictures per page but you choose the page background, layout and cover. Our 1 year old loves to flip through the pages and look at the pictures. I also wrote some phrases on some of the pages.
