Is the foldout monorail card from Disney normal when staying onsite?

This will be the second time I have stayed onsite. The last time I rented points. This time I booked a bounceback offer for VWL. Anyways, I just received a foldout monorail card with information specific to the resort, my confirmation information, and other things ot do while at disney. I thought it was a neat card.

I know I recently received the thank you card for staying on site in December. That appeared to be new based on responses here. So, I thought I would ask. My question is, is this normal or is this something new?

Yes, that is what they send out shortly after you book. We got one when I booked room only for POR and then got a new one when I cancelled that reservation and changed dates (room only so a new reservation). That mailing is really cute with all the resort info for where you are staying.

Not sure how long they have been doing this but I seem to remember rcving the same thing last year (May 2011) for CSR.

Yep we received the monorail card both when we booked rooms at POFQ and Poly, each with info specific to that resort. The girls loved carrying that monorail card around the house for a few days.

Oh -- the one in the mail? Yeah, we've gotten that one. I saved the book and envelope for our scrapbook.

I thought from the OP it was something at check-in.

Yeah it was great getting a card with Disney characters all over and saying congrats on your trip. Almost had a heart attack when my daughter picked it up since our trip is a surprise
