Disney Visa Card
Considering getting a Disney Visa ( reg one with no annual fee) for the perks only. Really do not need it, but the free dining offer caught my eye so I am wondering what some of the other perks are with this card? The rewards program is not very attractive in terms of how much you would have to spend to get a significant return, but some other perks along with the rewards may make it worth considering. What are the reasons you love this card ?

First reason is the $100 Disney gift card they will send you after your first purchase. If you plan on paying it off each month there really is no down side. We really like the free photo op in Epcot
I got one for the sign-on bonus ($200, at the time) and then the free picture in the EPCOT character spot. I never used it for anything else since the benefits were lower than other reward cards.
You also get 0% financing for 6 months on your Disney vacation. I got mine to pay for our cruise a few years back. I don't use my DV card on a regular basis, so don't rack up as many points as some others do, but hey, even $30 worth of points can buy a lot of Mickey bars...

Just to make sure I am understanding this correctly...I can put the entire trip on the card and have 6 months to pay in full before accruing interest? We usually book 12 months out through Disney travel and pay it off before the 45 day window , so this perk appeals to me. How do they determine your credit limit?
If you pay off the card then you have to think about the reward points. Can you get more from another card such as Shell for free? I cannot get such benefits from another card thus I use this one. There is a discount on shopping over $50 at selected locations but AP would be better.
Free dining means paying rack rate and upgrading to deluxe. I am going AP premiere card, tables in wonderland card, and skipping the dining plan. I saved more with an AP discount on rooms.

Mom calls to check on me and reminded me to pay the gardener. I love her so much.
Disneyland was fun with flag retreat and pickles. I have a home here, thank you. GAC is NOT a "front of the line pass".
She is gone but keeping signature. Laundry is getting done. My purpose in life is to help poor people in FL. Farewell, will miss you.
We got the card last year before our cruise, I forget now what the inital limit was but it was shy just a bit of putting our whole cruise on it. I called and they adjusted the line of credit. I paid it off and now have those rewards dollars to use for gifts for my kids on our upcoming trip. It's not a huge amount, but enough for the kids to buy what they want.I only use the cardfor Disney things, like at the Disney store, if I spend over $50 i will get 10% off my purchases and I like to put our vacations on the card too. I hate having CC, but this one seems to be working out OK for us. I'm excited to get the photo opp this year too at Epcot.
I have a Disney Visa only for the fact that they often have special offers before the general public, like the current free dining offer. I never use it otherwise, as we are just not credit card people - DH has one that is used for business travel expenses and that's it, lol.

THANK YOU everyone! Using it to finance our Disney vacations ( paying off early) and then getting the rewards to use on said vacation seems to be the one thing we would use it for. I really appreciate everyone's input
that's exactly what we did. Just make sure you pay it off within those 6 months, or you will be hit with whopping interest charges. happy planning!

This is why I got it also ($100 bonus when we got it). But I recently closed the account because I never use it, and we get better rewards with other cards. Since we are DVC members, any discounts available for room / packages / or free dining would not apply for us (uness we are paying OOP, whch we haven't done yet).
