tell me about the otlet stores...

This will be the first time we have a vehicle at disney and i want to visit one of the outlet stores. I have read things about them but never paid too much attention since we never had a car.

What is the difference between the two? How far away are they?

We live by an outlet mall in MN which is the same "premium" chain so i know how to access the coupons.

Thanks for your tips!

We always go to the one at the Premium Outlets - it's a nice short drive from Downtown Disney - no more than 10 minutes. I will be honest, it's hit and miss in there. Either we find loads we like or we find absolutely nothing at all, but we always enjoy checking it out and we have scored some amazing bargains before. I picked up a fleece a couple of years ago that was selling in WDW for $60 - I got it for $25!

The outlet store are not far away, just a short drive really.... but my personal favourite is Florida Mall. Not sure why, I just really love that place for shopping

When I was in the DCP I could walk there. It is close, but I found it a hit or miss as well. Wasn't very useful for stuff I needed, but more for things one would 'want'. The atmosphere was nice.

I was just at the outlet that is closest to WDW. I didn't buy much, but they do have a lot of items. I'm going to have to keep in mind that they have a lot of "special event" stuff that winds up left over. There is a pretty big discount on stuff from this year's flower and garden festival.
There are tons of other shops--it's pretty easy to get turned around and the number of maps/directories is lacking!

Last summer, DD and I stayed at the Hilton timeshare that is right behind the Premium Outlet Mall (has it's own entrance) so we took an evening to go shopping. We didn't find a single thing to buy. What we did like at some of the stores was still outrageously expensive that it wasn't worth it and found nothing at the Disney store that we wanted. Quite a disappointment to us. The place was really busy though.

We go to the Premium Outlets store and love it! We got a HUGE Duffy going for $60 in the parks for $20! Halloween Duffy's normally $30 were $5! We also buy our vinylmations there at a huge discount and then trade them at the parks. They have great prices on pins, but no where as cheap as on Ebay. If you're just looking to buy some small gifts for teachers and friends back home, this is a great place to go. We got a pack of Disney Kooky pens for the teachers - 3 pens in a pack for $6. They wear them on their lanyards. We've also gotten coloring books for $1, costume jewelry, clothes, mugs, etc.
