I made a slight miscalcualtion in two of my ADRs. I made an ADR at Chef Mickeys for 18 when it was in fact 19. And the same with Spirit of Aloha. I called back to adjust them and they are saying they can not.
My question: is it that problematic if I show up with 1 extra?
I'm sorry that you're being told that they can't make the adjustment for just one more person!
I've read that you're more likely to get seated if you show up with fewer people than with more. I don't know if they turn parties away, but you may have a longer than usual wait.
I think I'd just keep calling and trying to get your whole group on the ADR. Hope things work out.
I think it depends on how the tables are set up. If they are set up to seat 4 then you would need 5 tables no matter if you have 18 or 19 but if the tables seat 6 you would only need 3 tables for 18 and 4 tables for 19.
I think I would keep trying for the new reservation with the correct number of ppl, but the reservation system may not be able to make it since you already have such a big reservation for those exact dates and times.
They may not be able to accommodate 2 parties that big so as long as you keep your first reservation a second correct reservation wouldn't open up.
You will be taking a chance by just showing up with 1 extra.
What you could do is check other dates for those ADR's and maybe you can shift your reservations around to different days during your trip.

Maybe you can give them a call and ask if there are other evenings available for your headcount at those restaurants. Then you could simply switch evenings around. I ran into that one year for Thanksgiving when we had another family member want to join us for a meal. We had to cancel the first ressie and make a new one. Good luck!!
