DH and I are going to be spending some time at the Yacht Club, so we've been looking at entertainment on the boardwalk. I never see too much said about the Atlantic Dance Hall. I know you have to be 21 to get in, but can anyone tell me a little more about it? Have you been? Would you recommend it?
I went several years ago. It's a dance club with DJs playing anything from 80s to top 40. I just remember it being very empty but it could have been because we were there mid week. There were probably about 20 people there. We stayed just for a few songs and then went to Jellyrolls. The dance hall is free admission.
When we were there last year, I wanted to go, so we looked but DH doesn't like to dance so went to over to Jellyrolls. Jellyrolls was full but we weren't going to stay long and it was a $10 per person cover so decided to just walk the Boardwalk instead. We had fun just walking around.
I think if there are conferences at the YC, BWI or Swan/Dolphin, that there is more activity there. We certainly walked by and heard the music playing at night. We haven't gone in though.
I've gone in a few times and it's always really, really dead. Although we did stay long enough to see one guy (yes, guy) do the entire dance Britney does in her "I'm a Slave For You" video while they played it. It was...interesting. I would definitely recommend JellyRolls instead!
It's always dead whenever we peek inside. I've read reviews before online where people have raved about Atlantic Dance Hall, but I've never seen a crowd in there.
