Which Fireworks Cruise?

A girl I work with is taking her nieces to Disney in July and has asked me to totally plan her trip. She definitely wants to do the fireworks cruise, but which one? I've done the Illuminations cruise and loved it, but we chose it because it left from the hotel we were staying at. She's staying at POFQ so that won't matter. So my question is, have any of you done the Wishes cruise? Did you also get to see the EWP while on the cruise? I think that would be a big plus.

We did the wishes cruise with other PP friends last October. It's a nice cruise and they do a tour of the lakes before you stop to watch the show.

Yes, you do get to see the EWP after Wishes.

Some of my photos of this cruise are found in this part of the trip report;

Halloween Trip 2006: Fun, Friends, and Spooks Part 2 COMPLETE

As for choosing, that is hard. We enjoy Illuminations a lot and prefer it over Wishes (we do like Wishes too) We have been on 3 of the Illuminations cruises, but only 1 Wishes cruise.

For a "first time cruiser" I think either would be great!!!

If the trip is this July, I wouldn't be picky about choosing one. I'd phone and see if there was one even available this close to her trip. I'm not saying this to sound all negative or anything, but those cruises can be pretty tough to get.

You will enjoy the Wishes cruise very much. A couple of years ago my wife and daughter surprised me with a cruise for my birthday. It was a relaxing way to view the EWP and Wishes. Just before the fireworks started, the people on our boat started singing Happy Birthday to me. There were about five other boats in the area and the people in them sang to me as well. It was a great time.
