| Going in costume to MNSSHP I was just wondering who has worn a costume to MNSSHP. Who or what did you go as and how dressed up did you get? I'm debating if I want to go in costume and if so, to what extent. |

| Absolutely! We dressed for the NSSHP and had a BLAST!!! ![]() The key, however, is comfortable shoes! I 'forced' my DD to wear her sneakers and she was not happy with me at first but by the end of the evening she thanked me!

| I have been Snow White and my date has been The Woodsman. I have been Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum with my best friend. And last year I was Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. I go all out and make a new costume every year. It's not every day an adult person gets to dress up and go trick or treating!

| I went as tinkerbell and my husband dressed in a captain jack costume, but he didn't wear the wig because it contrasted with his glasses, so I told he could look more like Will without it. It was funny later on because we passed by a family and I heard the father tell his daughter, "Look, it's Peter and Tink." We laughed about that the rest of the night. I absolutely agree with the comfortable shoes. I wore ballet slippers which have really thin bottoms, so I put two layers of thick Doctor Sholl's in them to cushion the walk. The pavement and brick roads of MK are not foot friendly at all.

| What I've noticed at MNSSHP is that if you DON'T dress up, you're in the minority. DBF dressed up as Mr. Incredible, and I was the Queen of Hearts when we went. We saw everything from Disney Prince & Princesses to entire themed families - There was a Peter Pan family that was amazing. We even saw some non-Disney costumes - there was a family dressed up as Shrek, Fiona, Puss, and Fairy Godmother.

| We are going this year, I am going as Cinderella, DD 5 will be Belle, DS 2 wants to be spiderman - I may take something Disney related though. Havent convinced DH to wear a costume yet - hes not really excited about the trip anyway. I plan to pick him one up before we leave from Walmart that looked pretty nice - Pirates of Carribean. I'm glad others mentioned about the shoes. Have fun whatever you decide. |

| On a similar note, IF BF and I decide to dress up, I may very likely go as Belle. But I want the blue dress. I like it better and it's more practical. Anyone know where I could find one or a pattern for one. All I can find on the net at at the store to buy or make are all the ball gown. BF doesn't have any idea who or what he'd want to go as, and while "Couples" costumes are cute, I'm not sure how to dress him up to make us a "couple" if I go as Belle. Any suggestions? |

| Just a piece of advice based on my MNSSHP experience is to pack a bag with clothes to change into because we had a really bad rain storm and people's costumes were getting ruined. If you pack a bag of clothes and store them in a locker if it rains you can change into park clothes and still maybe go around in ponchos and your costumes won't get ruined. We saw many adults dressed up and the one we talked to the longest due to the rain was a wife and husband dressed as Capt. Jack and a Pirate lady. He was SOOOOOO much like Capt. Jack Disney asked him to NOT stop and pose for photos or sign autographs. If he was caught doing so he would be escorted out. While we sat for Wishes he was approached about every 5 minutes and had to turn kids away nicely or make it look like he wasn't posing and let the parents take photos if the kids got upset. It was tough on him. After about an hour he took the Wig off and parts of the costume so that it wouldn't go on forever. So if you do dress up and look too much like the character (maybe there is a job for you in it LOL) just make sure you are prepared to turn people down for photos and such! But its great fun to dress up!

| If you are all dressed in costume - do you still ride the rides?

| How true! The Grands and I will all three be pirates this year, as we are also going on the cruise and will be pirates there, too. I was not really too fond of the idea the first time I went, but wouldn't miss it if I can help it! SAM |

| DD will be Tink and the rest of us will be pirates. I just bought the pirate shirts so we could pair them with shorts in case it is hot, and it would make riding the rides easier. I hope you decide to jump into the fray! -Holly

| When deciding on a costume, keep in mind that it is frequently quite hot in Florida in October. I made a Sorcerer Mickey costume for my son that was weather-appropriate for Halloween in Philadelphia. He sweated like crazy and ended up pulling the red robe off for most of the party (which I wound up carrying ).Eileen
