Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Can someone explain the details of this to me? I have heard some conflicting things & I think we will be going this year so I want to iron out the details. Do you buy a party ticket & a park pass to get in? What time do you get into the park for the party? Do you wear a bracelet to stay in the park while those without tickets have to leave like you do for the EMH? What time does the party start? What special events are there? Whew that is a lot of questions. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

You buy a separate party ticket which will get you into the park at 4pm. You do NOT need a regular park pass to enter after 4. We spend the day doing Downtown Disney or swimming or relaxing for the late night, then go to the park at 4 to save a day on the pass. You are given a wristband that you will be asked to show periodically throughout the evening (when passing from one "land" to another and to board rides. The party starts at 7pm with a show in front of the castle and there are lots of other special events/shows throughout the evening (I don't have my last schedule handy).

We go to the park at 4 and ride whatever we're in the mood for that doesn't have a long line. Around 6, we head over to Pecos Bill's and grab a bite to eat. After that, we walk on to Pirates, Splash, BTMRR, and work our way around through Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. Catch the LATE parade, it's a lot less crowded. In previous years there was free hot chocolate and cookies and a photo opportunity, but those have changed over the past few years, so don't bank on them.

We had such a great time at the party in 2006 that we went twice that trip. It really was a lot of fun (and seeing "snow" on Main Street will bring tears to your eyes!)

Are there always 2 parades at every MVMCP? Or just select nights like say Fantasmic is shown twice on some nights but not others.

Do you buy a party ticket & a park pass to get in? Nope, you just have to buy a ticket to the party.

What time do you get into the park for the party? The party starts at 7, but they usually begin letting party ticket holders in around 4pm

Do you wear a bracelet to stay in the park while those without tickets have to leave like you do for the EMH? Yep, that's exactly what happens. You'll get a wristband upon entering the park with your MVMCP ticket

What time does the party start? 7pm

What special events are there? Free Hot Chocolate and cookies are offered at certain places in the park; The MVMCP parade. Holiday WISHES fireworks. Mickey's Night Before Christmas show.... and the characters greet you in their holiday wear.

Thanks so much for your answers! I was hoping to save a park pass by only getting a party ticket but I wasn't clear if it worked that way. I am thinking we will plan to arrive at WDW on a day with a MVMCP so we can get to the hotel a few hrs before it starts, get situated & relax until we can get in to MK. It is cool that we can get in a few hours before the party starts, I think we will plan an early dinner. It sounds like to much fun. I can't wait. BTW are there any Nightmare before Christmas characters around? My daughter absolutely loves that movie & would flip if she could get Jack Skellington's autograph.

You'll love the Christmas Party - we think it's well worth the ticket price.

We had a great time at the party this past year. My dd has egg allergies and therefore couldn't eat the cookies...but different locations had some other things. There were apple slices for kids and the center at the CP had the Divvies cookies that are egg free. The party was very accomodating.

We did not see Nightmare before Christmas, but we also did not make it all the way around the park. We had fun at the dance parties and waited in line for autographs from the princesses who were out with their princes. We were a little disappointed that the princesses did not have fancy Christmas/winter muffs or fur collars. They were just in their regular dresses.

Have a super fun time! There is a special feeling just know that you are at a special party!

I have been working on our vacation schedule, and my husband had a question that I hadn't thought of... Can anyone tell me what rides are open during the MVMCP? Is it only the rides that are open during the EMH, or are there more? Thank you!

I don't want to hijack this thread, but this leads me to another question...if we are doing the MVMCP on our second day at MK, should we save some of the 'big ticket'/long line rides for then, since it may be less crowded? I'm thinking specifically of Big Thunder Mt, Dumbo (ugh...I know...for the kids), PhilharMagic, etc...any advice would be fantastic!
