Mickey\'s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Our family is finally going to DisneyWorld! Our children will be 10, 8, and 4 1/2. We will be celebrating my son's 8th birthday in Disney. We are also planning on attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Since this is our first trip, we are looking for any advice that would help make this trip even more memorable. How is the Halloween party? Any birthday advice? Any "must do's" or "avoids"? We really want to do this right, since we don't forsee another Disney trip in the future.

Re: Mickey\'s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Welcome to the PassPorter Message Boards kenimemom!

I went to the Halloween Party in 1998 and and a ball with my two friends. We all went in costume! I think going in costume is half the fun but you don't have to be dressed up to go to the party. I would like to go back again during the Halloween season just to attend the Party! Wait till you see how Main Street is decorated....

What a fun time to have a birthday!
If you stop by City Hall in MK you can pick up a free Birthday Button for him to wear.

Re: Mickey\'s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Hi kenimemom, and welcome to the boards!

We are going at about the same time as you and we are really looking forward to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! We will be attending the party on 10/29 and we are all going in costume (myself as Cruella (who else), my 14 yo son as Grumpy, my 10yo son as Goofy and my DH, WildForWd, as Yensid, the wizard from the original Fantasia. It looks like it's going to be a great time. Hope we see you there!

Before the party, we are celebrating my older son's 14th birthday with dinner at Chef Mickey's. We are thinking of wearing our costumes here too!

MNSSHP is a blast! My DH & I did this last October. We both came in costume -- but many people come as themselves. We thought it was fun to dress up & received many compliments on our crafty costumes. (He went as Obi-Wan from Star Wars & I went as a "flapper.")
Have fun!

Re: Mickey\'s Not So Scary Halloween Party

That sounds like fun! I would like to try and go at that time of the year next year. Maybe for my birthday? (October 26!) This year I bought me the new talking Pooh costume and my son the talking Tigger. I got his big so we can wear them many years, I hope. (I actually got him a small adult size.) Well, that sounds like so much fun. Tell us more! Do you Trick or Treat? What tricks do they play if any?
