| Re: Cinderella\'s castle Kiss Goodnight ? I'm glad you asked about this, HiddenMickey. I've been wondering the same thing since my trip last month. Apparently, there's supposed to be music and an announcement (in the same voice that welcomes you to the MK each day), thanking you for spending the day there and wishing you more magical memories or something. I think there's also supposed to be a series of "good nights" from different characters. (?) It's supposed to happen several times every night -- every half hour or so, starting about an hour before park closing, and continuing for an hour or so after closing. I was there on an e-night in March (a Friday night). I was waiting for the others in my group and found a great spot to sit on the curb near the flagpole, looking straight down the middle of Main Street toward the castle. I sat there for almost an hour, and I thought for sure I would get to experience the Kiss Goodnight .... but no such luck. Oh well ... one more thing to add to my "Next Time" list. Sandy |

| Re: Cinderella\'s castle Kiss Goodnight ? I think the Kiss Goodnight is somewhat of an Internet Phenomenon in that I think it's kind of the name that's been given to the little closing announcement that they do after MK has been closed. I've seen variations discussed on other boards--one person seemed to think that the Kiss Goodnight goes on all night and was equivalent to the castle changing colors. Another individual felt that the castle changing colors had nothing to do w/the Kiss Goodnight and thought that the Kiss Goodnight was, as described above, a special ceremony where Minnie and Mickey come out and "say goodbye" (via the closing ceremony) and give each other a "Kiss Goodnight." When we were there last September, we heard the closing ceremony stuff, but I didn't see M&M come out to say goodbye. However, right after the closing ceremony, all of the lights on the castle turned off momentarily, and then they began the castle changing colors thing. Interestingly, this happened around 9:20 p.m. after the Fantasy In The Sky fireworks (park closed at 9:00 p.m.) the first time we saw it, and then around 9:30 p.m. on an E-ride night (where the park was open until 10:00 p.m.)...so I'm not sure if there's any kind of rhyme or reason to it. I'll try to research it a little bit more and will get back to you if find any additional info on it, ok? ------------------ My little baby's all grown up, and....saving China! sniff...You got a tissue? | Re: Cinderella\'s castle Kiss Goodnight ? Found this on the DIS:
quote:
Hi Spinning. Yes, it takes place every night, including E nights, about 45 minutes after the official closing time, or about 35 minutes after the fireworks are over. The place to be is sitting on one of the concrete benches in the hub area in front of the Castle. Beautiful 'Disney' music plays, the Castle changes colors, an announcer, with an ever so 'Disney voice' thanks all for coming to the Magic Kingdom, reminds us of Walt's dream, and wishes everyone a safe trip home. Mickey and Minnie talk a bit, the Castle colors are 'drained' and it goes mostly dark, and then it is relit and Mickey giggles a bit. It is a most fitting end to a magical day, well worth the stay, not only allowing you to enjoy the park a bit and watch the people or 'soak it in' a bit more, but also allows for trnsportation to be less crowded as you exit Main Street out in the bus, monorail, boat area. I experienced the 'Kiss Goodnight' 3 times this trip. Loved them all.

Hope this helps!!! ------------------ My little baby's all grown up, and....saving China! sniff...You got a tissue? | Cinderella\'s castle Kiss Goodnight ? Here's something I've wondered about.....is the Kiss Goodnight of Cinderella's castle just the changing colors of the lights on the castle, or is there more to it? It seems like I read someone's report about a sound.....is there a Kiss sound or something? Just curious. -HiddenMickey |

| Re: Cinderella\'s castle Kiss Goodnight ? Thank you so much Nate! Just what I was looking for. We certainly saw the castle changing colors when we there previously....and were surprised to see that it continues to change colors all night long (we could see the top of the castle from our room at WL). I will make a point of trying to get the family to stay for the Kiss in August (if we can stay up that late!). -HiddenMickey |
