| Well!!!! I did day one on the treadmill just to see if i could do it and it was so much easier than i gave myself credit for! Although i believe i taxed myself prior with my usual workout. i did my usual 30mins of strength training and today it was my legs and abs. I did the 15 on the stairmaster and 15 on the bike but i slowly made my way over to the scary treadmill and it was GREAT! I did the day one of Couchto5k with a little cheating cause at one point i wanted to see how long i could jog straight and i was for about 5mins. So i got my 20mins in plus cool down. I thought i'd start on the treadmill just to see what i was looking at. I guess day two will be outside but i'm so excited to see how it would flow! Thanks Dawn for the encouragement! i have to run in the evenings because i have to be at work at 5am!! I know its a crazy time ...but at night is my only option during the week. But i was thinking of moving it to the mornings on sat and sun. Good luck this week to everyone training!

| Thanks starla!!! i think im going to stick to the plan as much as i can but i may move foward if i feel I can do it. I cannot wait to hear about your early 5k walk/run/jog! I know its hilly but youve been training for awhile now! Good luck and keep us posted for sure! HEY GUYS! i have a question for tammy, starla etc....I found out today that they do not provide transportation to pick up your packet at wide world of sports on that fri prior to the race. Pick up time is 10am-6pm. Djcrysi and i are thinking of heading over in a taxi from AKL on that fri morning to pick up that packet. would anyone like to chip in for a cab and join us for the package pickup? I thought it would be a fun way to meet! If you guys dont want to do that let us know about meeting for drinks prior or after the race in AKL

| Starla, It doesn't matter if you walk/run/jog. The important that you do it. I don't run either, it's more of a slow jog/walk. It just makes me feel good to use the word run. scdisneyfan: How nice of you to offer the use of your taxi. We are actually staying at the all-star sports, so that leaves me out on that meet & greet.

| Dawn: Maybe we can all meet prior to the race at the race or before for drinks....your welcome about the cab. I was just trying to figure out the best way over there and maybe we could all do it together. It may not work out for everyone but it would be fun if we could! If you are driving over to Disney thats the best way overall. They said the buses that run from TTC to Wide world of sports take a really long time so we figured the cab was the fastest route for us for sure.

| Crissy what a great idea. I am in on the taxi. We don't have plans for that day except for our ADR and evening EMH at Epcot. I am so excited to meet you ladies. I am wondering do you think they will let me pick up DH stuff too or do you think we both have to be present. I am thinking since they are encouraging teams that they would be in the same packet and I could just get his and let him stay at AKL and him and DS could do pool time or something. |

| Crissy congrats on overcoming the scary treadmill. Maria/Starla: I am with you and am very leary of the 20 min run I face this week. But I am going to be chanting the whole time I think I can I think I can. I know I can I know I can. I just finished reading Little Blue Engine to my DS. |

| Tammy: That's so awesome about the taxi! I'm so excited to meet you guys as well! I believe we have plans for EPCOT that day with a ressie that night in EPCOT so we are free to go early on to get the packet. I'm not really sure if you both have to be present. I could ask that question when they return my call. I already asked them about 50 questions so one more couldnt hurt right??? Thanks about the treadmill. I know its silly but I have seen so many disasters at my gym with falling! But, i swear my shin muscles are kiling me today. I mustve be using a totally different kind of muscles on the treadmill!! I have plans for more of Week one today, well tonight. But, i'm really into this and i love being able to talk about it with others who are much more advanced at this point but understand*LOL* Oh and i finally bought a pair of tennis shoes. I'm super picky when it comes to shoes so i had to find a pair that was a running shoe and color scheme that i didnt hate. I finally found a pair online at Dicks sporting goods. Its a pair of Adidas Jetic cushion running shoes. I've always worn adidas so it was like i couldnt let that go*LOL* crazy eh...

| Crissy, Glad to hear that you had a good experience with the treadmill. I had the same problem with shin splints the first time I ran on the treadmill. Mine improved when I bought a good pair of runnning shoes and the more I used those muscles the less they hurt. Hope that they feel better really soon. Tammy, you will do great on your 20 minute run!! I bet it will be easier than what you think. I agree that we should all plan to meet sometime before the race or at the after run party. It would be so great to meet everyone that I have gotten to know through this thread!!! I am jogging more than walking now, but some days I have a hard time finishing that last mile. There are plenty of days that I want to quite at 2.1 miles. I am hoping that my body will get used to it and it will get easier.

| Okay so I am going to do a 3K on Saturday in my hometown. We have the festival every year in Kingsport. (Fun Fest) They have this famous race called Crazy 8's. That is 8K. Not for me. But they also are having a Healthy Heart 3K. So we will see how things go on Saturday. Good luck Maria. You will do great in your 5K. Power through those hills!!!

| Good luck Crysi!! I know you can do it...call me to let me know how you do! On a sidenote, im wondering if anyone has any adivce on this topic. Djcrysi and i have ressies at San Angel Inn the night before our run. No pasta on the menu at all! Any advice?? should i change it to spoodles? Dawn: i have a question for you...im getting into trying to eat better with my runs i can have more energy. Is there a website you can recommend or advice on what's best to eat before a run? I'm finding a lack of energy which may be due to my weird work hours where i only get 6 hours sleep (if i'm doing good). But i would really like to put energy into my workout through food or something along those lines. Any advice from any one would be helpful really! I"m grasping at straws here. I did look on cool runnings.com and they had a few tips like cottage cheese and a apple, almonds. Well i'm finishing week one today. I'm a bit disappointed in my ability outside for running. Its got me a bit down but i'm trying to keep positive because i know i cant quit. I have been able to complete week one runs out side and i'm adding a day four with sat morning run because i feel i need more training. With the heat and humidity i really had a hard time towards the end of the runs. But i know it will be like that in florida so i keep trying. Hope everyone had a good training week!
