| I wonder how much help the CM's will be able to give us during the scavenger hunt. I am thinking I may need alot! I saw the safari in the sign and automatically thought that the answer was "Lion King". Now that I look at it again I see the "before" part. It has been so humid here with all of the storms and rain. I tried to run yesterday but the wind was blowing so hard that I was not going far at all. DH said he saw me take 6 steps and I only went 3 inches. Hopefully, I will be able to get a good run in tomorrow. I can not believe that our trips are getting so close. Crissy, I am glad that your ankle is getting better. It was a good idea to give it plenty of time to heal before you started running again.

| Dawn: I think it could have been taken two ways. I'm thinking the CM's will be a big help i'm sure! We also have the same countdown! Are you guys flying into MCO too? We are are flying in at 10am...i was thinking we might be there at the same time on the 24th maybe? I think the weather is such a factor for everybody....looks like hanna might landfall in SC....so who knows right? I'm thinking i'm dont care if i have to crawl to that finish line i will do what it takes to finish*LOL* Yeah, I did an hour of cardio yesterday...I was able to walk on an incline of like 6 or 7 for 3.8mph for 32 mins before my ankle started bothering me...then i moved to the bike for 15 mins then the stair master for 10 mins...i tried to run for about 2 mins on the treadmill but the impact is what hurts so i quit that fast...i dont want to mess it up now.... I did read some cool training facts though in shape magazine...it said that eating at all before a workout can cause an upset stomach and even drinking a lot of water right before you workout can do that too. They were talking about before a workout that the night before is what matters...that's the energy your body pulls from...not that day's food. It said your body can do a 5 k on what you ate from the night before. I thought that's crazy! But I've been doing what they say and only eating a banana or yorgurt like an hour before i workout and i'm fine....then after your workout they say to eat a high protein lunch or snack like bagel with PB or choc milk or protein shake something like that....my fav is the bagel with PB....anyway just some cool tips.... I do love my moisture wicking clothes though...i wore my shirt that i had bought yesterday and its amazing along with the shorts! Oh is anybody putting their name on their tshirt for the run???

| We went to the gym tonight to get in another workout for the week and we walk in and notice right away it is kind of dark in there. I still see people working out but only on the elliptical machines. The power was out and the kids club was closed since it was pitch dark back in there. So we did the lazy thing and came home since we had Dillon with us. I guess one of us could have stayed and did weights we just choose to go home instead. It was weird seeing the gym dark though. |

| Man that stinks tammy! I really hate when something like that happens. So, what did everybody buy that is special for this race? I bought tennis shoes as a reward to myself. I"m thinking of investing in a sports watch to keep track of myself at the race. I bought new clothes..... I'm thinking of the skirt still...a little unsure there..... do you guys intend on bringing stuff to change into after the race?

| I was on the race website and I came across this. Thought I would pass it on. Hmm what type of climbing are we going to have to do? My arms are definitely my weakest area. I also got the clue. Hmm I guess I shouldn't have read so much into the first one. I wonder how many more clues they are going to do since we leave on the 20th if they will be sending another one to my email while we are already at WDW. I have new shoes, socks and TMI but a sports bra. Yeah, I probably will bring clothes to change into because after doing a 5k and obstacle they won't even let me back in the park because I will smell worse than the animals themselves. FINAL RACE INSTRUCTIONS Your journey begins with a 5K run inside Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park and the surrounding areas. At the conclusion of the 5K you will encounter an obstacle course where climbing, crawling and balance are the keys to successfully navigating the challenges. After the obstacle course you will receive a passport as you head back inside the Park. The clues contained in the passport will help solve the mysteries of the Scavenger Hunt. The Scavenger Hunt will test your weary mind but those who complete the journey will celebrate with their fellow trekkers at the Post Race Party in the Dinoland U.S.A.® Area. Check out the final race instructions to be really prepared. They will be posted on Monday September 8. |

| I'm thinking i'm glad crissy is doing the scavenger hunt part but i have no clue about the clue this time*LOL* I'm always bad at stuff like that..... Yeah i would love to do the matching shirts for the race!!! Lets do it crissy! i can do the balance i think but is the climbing like they do in boot camp??? cause if its angled and i can use my legs to push myself i would be able to do it but otherwise i'm not sure....didnt know i would have to climb...now crawling i can do that*L* but i'm thinking crawling what kind of crawling? under ropes maybe? i dunno! but i have no upper body strength..i mean i've been doing weights on them but not chin ups or anything.... I believe you all will pass me and my poor ankle up at this race*L* It's still very weak and not able to run but i'm hoping with a little prayer and patience i will be able to run in the almost 3 weeks we have left....well its 3 weeks from today right? yeah i bought the tennis shoes, shirt and sports bra etc too! Glad to hear you are bringing changing clothes cause i am too! i'm going to go check out those tshirts now!

| Crissy, we will be driving down instead of flying. But it looks like we will be arriving on property around the same time! Thanks for the information about eating a good dinner the night before the race. I am wondering since this is an evening race whether we should eat an early lunch, nothing too heavy but something other than fast food? If I run in the morning I normally don't eat anything until I am finished because I feel bad if I eat before. OK, I am nervous about the climbing and the balancing part of the obsticle course. I am not very gracefull and have not been training my upper body. I am going to start tomorrow. Tammy, I bet it was very unusual to go to the gym and find it pitch dark. I find that some days it is hard to work out no matter how hard you try. Hopefully everything will be back on track soon. I am totally stumped on that second clue? Any one have any ideas? Not long now!!!

| okay guys so you would have totally cracked up at my and crissy one's conversation on the phone yesterday. We talked on sat and sun...and last night we were getting the nervous jitters about this obstacle course so i say " Well if you know the clues then I will hoist your butt up and over that climbing part." she says " I"m sure disney would love you pushing my butt over that wall" To which i say "there's nothing in the rules that say i cannot" so then we think how am I going to get over that wall to which i say "well Maria's husband can push us over then*LOL" We aint gonna lie.....we are a bit nervous about this who "obstacle course" So we were thinking CRAWLING???? through what, under what, sand, concrete, dirt?? cause we can't take a shower when this is done and I'm not wearing a white shirt if i'm crawling in dirt*LOL* balancing???? over what? water??? or something on our heads???? I'm like you dawn...i have NO upper body strength....so i'm wondering how i can so working on that in two weeks So, we are a weeeee bit nervous!! Crissy one's guess on the clue was H2O which meant an H and two O's meant it spells the word HONOR . My mom thought that too so it must be right???? i'm telling ya..i had no clue literally! So, with this scavenger hunt? crissy one and i'm thinking the clues will lead us to the next clues..which means we need to study that map of the park so we know where everything is! I am with you tammy and dawn....i can't eat heavy before a run at all or it makes me have indigestion. So i'm with tammy about the pb sandwhich or something like that..... Crissy one and I's plans are to eat at Tusker house for breakfast that day....then we are going to go to the fruit stand in Africa and buy some fruit and eat a super light lunch.... Then we are heading back to the room around 330 or so...to rest a little and get changed and eat some PB sandwhich or something light....so by the time the run comes around we are set.....I dont want anything heavy after breakfast.... but i'm usually famished after a workout so i'm wondering what kind of refreshments they will provide??? Tammy: i cant believe you only have 12 days!!!!! Sounds like your training continues to go well! My ankle is weak...i expected it to be i guess. I am doing well though despite the fact...and crissy one has made me feel better by saying she will stay right there with me the whole time! Maria: how's school and training? Dawn: not much longer.....yeah we are flying because driving always proves to be a bit much for us two. I just got a flight alert for a roundtrip ticket for 100 out of this little aiport next to my house..i was so upset because we are drivng an hour out of our way to fly out and it was 200!!! arghh.....hindsight...hindsight....

| hey everyone.....The 3K went well. I shaved about a minute off my time from July. That made me happy. I am thinking that my timing is going to come in at a 45min. 5K. I hope it is less but that is what I am expecting. Just under the limit. I am all over the clues. I think I know what is going on there BUT the obstacles are a bit scary. I have to think that it is going to be fun. Most runners I know are just that runners. I don't think anything too aggressive is going to be planned. But then again it may just be wishful thinking.

| Crissy #2, Good for you that you are able to run again!!!!! :the wave: I am glad to hear that your ankle didn't bother you. I too thought that the race details would be posted yesterday but I couldn't find it either.Chrissy #1, Congratulations on figuring clue number 2 out. I think that you are right about the H2O and the answer being HONOR. Also, Congratulations on your 3k and that you shaved some time, too. Tammy, wow I just saw your count down and you only have 10 days!!!!! Hard to believe that we will be able to meet in about 16 days. I can hardly wait.

| I didn't see any updates either. I just came from checking the website again too. Crissy 1 you are so right about that clue. I never would have thought about that. My DH didn't either so you may see us still trying to figure stuff out while you are riding Everest. Crissy 2 glad your ankle cooperated with you today. Glad you are back in the saddle. Maria: You still doing okay. Haven't heard from you in awhile. Just checking up on you. Dawn: I am so psyched that I get to do the single digit dance. Yippee!! Even my DS can tell you that we only have 10 days left to go. I have truly brainwashed this child. |
