Just booked an Illuminations Cruise...Need personal experiences!!

I just booked an Illuminations Cruise for November 20!! I was teary eyed trying to finish the reservation because the whole trip is a surprise for my Mom! Does anyone have any experiences from the Illuinations cruise? Anything "less than perfectly magical" I should be warned about? I am sooooo excited and can't wait for those memories to begin pouring in! Re: Just booked an Illuminations Cruise...Need personal experiences!!

Congrats on your ressies. We went on a fireworks cruise at MK 2 yrs ago. The only prob. was that we were at the mercy of the weather. It was cold and rainy. We finally told our driver (nice lady) to take us back to the hotel. This year, I have booked 2 cruises, 1 at the beginning of our trip, 1 at the end, so that we have a better chance of having one good cruise. Re: Just booked an Illuminations Cruise...Need personal experiences!!

We did the Illuminations cruise with two other Passporters (who are no longer posting) and their families last year. It was the highlight of the trip. We met at the marina for the Yacht Club and boarded our boat with (I think it was Tammy) our skipper. She took us on a tour of the waterways, past all the resorts and down to MGM, where we saw some of the fireworks for Fantasmic! and then to our space under the International bridge to watch the show. The view was perfect. There were 3 other boats tied up alongside, so it wasn't all that private (though it still seemed like we were there alone). We had sprinkles that night, and part of the boat is covered, so those that wanted to sat under the canopy. The kids on the boat each had a turn steering the boat while we did our pre-tour---which they loved. Illuminations itself went off beautifully and we were just in awe. It was a wonderful night. Afterwards we took a quick tour of the lake in World Showcase and then back to the dock. -HiddenMickey
