Another Disney Store Closing

DH and I just went to our local mall to go to the Disney Store. And what is posted outside the store? A closing sign Are they closing all the Disney Stores? I have 2 gift cards that I have been adding money to for DSis and mines Dec trip. Will they still be good? The money that is on them will they expire before Dec?? I am so not a happy camper. This just saddens me.

No, they aren't closing all of the Disney Stores.

There is a thread going about it in the past couple of days and a tentative list was posted of stores that were/are closed/closing. A few people also posted about stores they know are staying open.

I'll see if I can find the link . . .

ETA:

Here it is: Disney Store Closings

I talked to my in-laws today in St. Louis and they said they have heard Chesterfield, St. Louis Mills (Hazelwood), Mid-Rivers (St. Charles), St. Louis Galleria, Independence AND Kansas City are supposed to be closing.

Mid Rivers is the one we went to tonight. That just saddens me. Chesterfield, St. Louis Mills and St. Louis Galleria are also ones near me. Why are they closing them? I love the Disney store. It always gives me a fix when I can't get to WDW. Oh well what is a girl to do?

I think some of the store just weren't picked back up by Disney when the bought the stores back.

I am wondering if some may not reopen after a time though . . . seems to me that closing ALL of the stores in that area might not be the smartest thing.

The list that was posted earlier was tentative though and I think some people did say that their store was listed on there but is NOT closing. You might call the others though and check for sure though.

Thanks Sarah for the info. I am in shock right now. I thought for sure they would leave at least one by me open.

Closing

Your Gift cards are good in the parks even if your store closes. Now if they are Merchandise credits they must be used before the store closes because they are not good in the parks. Also don't beleive the list out there some stores on the list are remaining open while others not on the list are closing now.

Disney Stores closing

I worked for the company. One of my closest friends is still there. 1st there is no store at the Mills mall in Hazelwood, MO
They are closing Chesterfield, Mid rivers, Crestwood, and Galleria. They have all already been taken over by liquidators and will be gone with in 6-7 weeks at most.
They are closing 98 stores in North America. The Branson Outlet is staying open over in Tanger outlets. I personally called them to check. Me and my friend who still works there hugged and cryed the day they went back to Disney because we new they were closing.

All Disney gift cards are still valid. the are able to be used at any disney store staying open, WDW, Disney Land, The Disney Cruise Line, and Disneyshopping.com

They're closing 1 of 2 Milwaukee area stores. I feel lucky that at least we still have one store in the area!

Do you know if there are any in the St. Louis area that are staying open?

none of the St. Louis Stores are staying open. The only store that I know for sure in the entire state that is staying open is Tanger Outlet in Branson which is the Disney Outlet
