Christmas Decorations

Does anyone know when Disney decorates for Christmas? I was just wondering how early you could avoid the Holiday crowds, but still see Disney done up for Christmas.

Everything is done just before Thanksgiving. If you want to avoid the Christmas crowds, the first week of December is usually fairly quiet

We were there the 2nd week of Dec in 2007 and it was WONDERFUL. We're going the 1st week this year for comparison's sake. Anytime after the 15th would prb start to get nutty.

Question about Christmas decorations at Fort Wilderness

I heard that at Fort Wilderness the campers go all out with decorating for Christmas. I would like to see this but when I called Fort Wilderness, I was told that unless I am a guest at the campgrounds, I am not allowed to enter. If I dare to enter, is this a walk through or is this part of the wagon ride?
I was at WDW for 3 weeks in Dec 2006 and saw everything else but this. Has anyone seen the decorations?

You don't have to be a guest to enter FW...All you do is get on the bus or the boat to get there..Alot of the resort guest decorate out side their RV's and some do decorate their cabins. Other guests visit FW daily, for the Hoop De Do, Trails End Restaurant, Mickey's BBQ, Christmas at the Fort..horseback riding, fishing excursions...just to name a few....and yes they do have wagon rides..but I don't believe they are just for sight seeing the Christmas Decorations...Trust me, there is no one standing around to see if you "belong" there. Please keep in mind that FW is a VERY large resort, I wouldn't recommend walking it. And yes, I have seen the decorations many times...I think everyone does a great job decorating their little homes.

MK was done the first of Nov. last year. because of the MVMCP. The gingerbread house at GF was also finished that week.

They decorate in November. We went Christmas week in 2004 & I must say that it really wasn't too crowded. Would I go over Christmas again, prorbably not. We are used to having snow in the north for Christmas & being in the warm climate for the holiday just wasn't for us.

They start now at the end of October, as they put up the Christmas tree outside Animal Kingdom on Halloween 2006. Everything is done by Thanksgiving and early to mid December is usually a quiet time of year to visit.
