halloween pin

Hi guys,

Did anyone else get excited about the prospects of getting the Doombuggy pin with Cruella and Maleficent riding inside? Am I the only trading pin geek around?

Re: halloween pin

HI there jaygatz, and welcome to the boards! You will find many pin traders here, with a vast knowledge of the many pins that are available. While I did not get the Haunted Mansion Pin, ( I, for one, am not a HUGE HM fan) I did admire the pin, very nice detail and the colors are great! How many pins do you have? I have over 150, and am looking forward to adding to that collection through eBay and in the fall of 2003, when we take our 5th trip to WDW. Have a great day!

Re: halloween pin

I JUST placed my online order for this fabulous pin - thanks to all of my friends here! Between my 2 DDs and myself, we have collected about 30 pins total. The temptation was just TOO hard to resist during our WDW vacation!!

Re: halloween pin

wow DebiDebiDebi,
that's quite a collection! I have a paltry 23, but only started during my last trip in December of 2001. I can't wait to get back down to the world this December and start the tradin'.

Re: halloween pin

jaygatz, you gotta start somewhere, and 23 sounds like a great start! Have you done trading before? I would love to give you some pointers if you have not done any trading, or if you have, maybe you have some pointers I could use! How do you store your pins? I have a Disney Pin Briefcase; zippered, softsided case with several fabric "pages" to display the pins. I also have a pin album, but prefer using the briefcase, as it travels better than the album. Do you collect a specific character, or do you do as I do...collect whatever and whoever catches my eye? What is your favorite pin? Mine is one of the Little Oysters from Alice In Wonderland...kidnof a rare one, and older than most. Keep in touch, it is nice to have other pins collectors to chat with!

Re: halloween pin

DebiDebiDebi--

I've never traded pins before, but I am hoping to figure it out this trip. Any hints/pointers would be much appreciated. The pins that I have collected are just pins that have appeared "cool" to me at the time. My favorite is a simple pin depicting Eeyore in a rather melancholy position...nothing fancy, but that is Eeyore's appeal. Anyway, any tips or conversation is appreciated.

Re: halloween pin

Hi jaygatz
With my DW's screen name as CRUELLA, this is one pin we HAD to have!!
We each in our family collect the pins that appeal to each of us.
Joanne(aka Cruella) collect Cruella & Tinkerbell pins.
DS#1 collects Grumpy & Donald.
DS#2 collects mainly Goofy.
And I collect Mickey Sorcerer, and assorted Villains, and then if we just like a certain pin we go for it!
We basically stick to trading with cast members, who HAVE to trade you any pin they have on their lanyard. We look for a cheap pin or SET of pins at the Disney store and stock up so we can trade for more expensive pins in the "World"!
Last year I got a boxed set of I think 5 pins at the DS for only $12. At less than $2.50 each they were perfect for trading with cast members! I think I picked up about 6 sets and we traded them all on our last trip!
Have a great time!!
Tim
