Re: Heads Up Pin Traders!! This talk of etiquette and tips on 'how to trade' makes this pin trading lark sound very complicated for a bear of very little brain. Maybe that's why I've never really got into it? Cheryl

Re: Heads Up Pin Traders!! Cheryl the best tip we evr got was to trade exclusively with CMs. Scoop Sanderson is a great personality! - He gave Keith two pins for his birthday last year.

Re: Heads Up Pin Traders!! I agree with Elaine on this. We tried trading with a few guests, and found it not to be any fun. CM's have nothing to loose, (the pins on their lanyards are not theirs), and therefore are extremely helpful; as in they will point you in the direction of a valuable pin they might have on their lanyard, or caution you to keep a certain pin you might have on yours. I have several pins that are worth alot through the guidence of great CMs!

Re: Heads Up Pin Traders!! The Pins I buy usually are a personal favorite or have some sentimental or personal meaning to me. So ... I don't want to trade them for anything. That is thier value to me. [ 03-22-2003, 07:32 PM: Message edited by: coffeechef ]

Re: Heads Up Pin Traders!! I agree Coffeechef, that is why I buy pins strickly for trading. All my favorites go into my collection. Another good reason for trading with CM's, they let you choose which you take and which you give...so, buying "cheaper" pins for trading works well when one trades with CMs only.

Re: Heads Up Pin Traders!! If I ever get around to my TR, you'll see a lot of pin trading going on! DS#1 - favors any lanyards, cast exclusives, Princesses, Castles and Peter Pan DS#2 - favors any lanyards, cast exclusives and goofy DD - favors any lanyards, cast exclusives and lilo/stitch They had a ball! DS#1 & #2 actually took their pin collections and stood outside Pin Traders and shared their pins with other guests. They made some very excellent trades! When the "professional pin traders" as I like to call them, saw that DS#2 had a great start to a Goofy collection, they gave him some wonderful trades! And DD has an excellent Lilo and Stitch collection so a "pro" traded down so that she could get his only cast exclusive pin. He told her not to sell her set! I would shop and walk by Pin Traders and there they were, busy talking up pins like they were pros. They traded with anybody and everybody and had a ball!
