Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

This is one of the things we are planning on doing during our 10 day visit in December. Has anyone done the dinner package?

I was wondering more about how it works. From what I have read it sounds similar to Fantasmic! Dinner packages. My question is do you have to eat "DINNER" (more like lunch right?) at 3:00 in order to make the 5:00 CP show?

Re: Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

Hi there - we did this last December, and recommend it highly!

It's not quite the same as the Fantasmic package - you check in with Guest Services the day before your package, and they will give you an ID badge, and a multi part ticket that serves as your meal id and your admission into the theater. You can make the reservations for any show with any available PS seating time. If you want to do the 5 pm CP, then you could do dinner after, say, at 7:30 pm. We did a 5:30 pm seating at Le Cellier, followed by the 8:45 pm CP - it just seemed even more magical after dark to me!

Your ID badge (it has the date on it) gives you a 15% discount on almost all merchandise purchased anywhere in Epcot that day - only certain high priced items are excluded. We did a load of Christmas shopping and pin buying that day!

You still need to line up at least 1/2 hour before the show - although I think the earlier show is not as crowded.

Have fun!

Re: Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

Thanks for the reply. So I can call WDW-DINE to make PS for one of the selected restaurants and tell them it is for CP? Then when I get there I go to guest services (at Epcot only?) and get my ID/tickets, right?

Re: Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

When we phoned for our CP last year, the CM sorted us out with times for our dinner. We saw the 5.00 show and she offered us either 6.40 or 6.50 dining times. I asked if we could have something later, but she told me I couldn't. I don't think it was because they were sold out, as we booked almost as soon as the tickets were available. I suspect because there are three shows a night, they allocate specific dining slots to each show. When we were eating, a lot of people were rushing through their dinner to get to the final show.

If you're staying onsite, you can pick up your CP tickets at guest services a few days before. At least that's how it worked last year.

Re: Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

You can definitely pick them up at guest services at the resort. We were staying at the AKL last Dec and they had a special Christmas activities line at the guest services area in the lobby. This was the only thing we could not do upstairs with the concierge.

Lots of fun!

Re: Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

I just called and checked...the CLP dinner packages are still not available. I think last year they came out in Aug, but I'll keep trying and let everyone know as soon as they are ready. By the way, Rockland RVers, I thought I read an old post of yours about extending your Disney Club membership til the end of the year, was that you? Anyway, to all with Disney Club memberships, just use their 800# for your PS and ANYTHING you need from Disney. Why pay for the long distance if you don't have to? Otherwise, yes, I do believe you would have to use the WDW-DINE #. Hope this helps..Carole

Re: Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

When you call to make your PS the CM will give you a suggested dining time based on which CP show you want to see. I wanted to see the 5:00 show and they told me that for the restaurant I wanted I had these times to choose from and she listed them. I think I ended up choosing the 7:10 PS at the Rose & Crown. Based on what she said I think they set aside times at the restaurants for the CP Packages.

Also I picked up my stuff for the CP the day I checked in. That way I had the information and I could use my 10% discount at Epcot shops right away that day.

Re: Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

we did Le Cellier last December for the Candlelight Processional package. We had 5:45 reservations for dinner and the 8:45 CP. Dinner in the package was limited as I remember to a choice of four entrees, an appetizer/soup choice and dessert which we both found surprisingly inedible. We ordered a bottle of wine and coffee but the package was a set price. It was pouring rain so we didn't go to the processional and instead enjoyed dessert and after dinner drinks in the French pavillion. I was underwhelmed with Le Cellier but I know I am in the minority here. LMF

Re: Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

We did CP last night it was held in 2003 (12/30). We had Jaodi Benson(Ariel) as narrator and she was wonderful. Ate at Le Cellier at 6:15 and show was 8:15. We had no restriction on waht we could have for dinner. We just choose appetizer, entree and dessert. It was very good. We lined up at 7:45 and the line for CP folks to enter their reserved seats was all the way to Japan! We were shopping in Japan and just happened to ask what these folks were waiting for..got in line then. Moved very quickly when they let us in.

Connears

We will be there 12/28-1/02 this year again..not sure if we are getting PKg. again.

Re: Candlelight Processional Dinner Package

Rockland RVers: This is kinda (but not directly) related...lots of folks decorate their campsites for Christmas, so it's something you may want to think about if you have a little extra room. We just had a couple of Disney Christmas signs and a few lights, but some folks have LOTS of decorations. You'll get a kick out of some of them. Remember to leave yourselves some time to tour the campground. Who needs the Osbornes? (Oh I know I'll get a lot of flack over that one!!)
