| What is up with pin codes?? I'm not sure if I'm posting this is the "right" spot, but could someone explain pin codes to me? How do you sign up for these things? Who gets them? How are they used? I'm so confused!

| Getting a Pin code is like winning the lottery. I'm not sure exactly if you've just had to have booked WITH Disney Travel Company or have had to have stayed on property to have your name in there. My nephew got one and he was on our list on our DVC reservation last year. It was his name, sent to my address though, so if it fit my plan, I could have used it. It didn't though. IF you get one, you call a number and it'll walk you through everything. You'll have a PIN to give them and then go from there.

| I have known of people who have never been to WDW but just have an account set up at the WDW website who have gotten PIN code e-mails/snail mails. DH has gotten 2 PIN code mailers and an e-mail code in the last year . . . and he doesn't even have an account set up neither has he had a reservation in his name when we've gone to WDW, but his name is in their system having been attached to "my" reservations. Like Wendy said, it is COMPLETELY random. There are people who have been going to WDW religiously and stay on property every time for years but have never gotten even one code . . . I have been going since 1996, had an account at the WDW site for years, but never even got a code until earlier on this year. And I am still holding on to it, even though I am fairly sure I can't use it.

| Yeah I have never seen one of these myself! But there are so many great promotions going on at most times, you don't need a pin code to get a great deal. Just watch the specials that they run for one that suits you...I got free dining for December, yay! OH and don't reserve online, call. I booked online originally and then called to make changes...I gave her my budget and she tried different promo codes until we got the trip to a price I could live with. Booking online I couldn't seem to configure it to the same deal she got me. Disney CM's - ![]()

| I had never gotten a code until I saved our plsns on the WDW website. I then received two codes both of which had the saved info on them. I used one of them and ended up with a better deal than the current buy4 get3 deal going on. Try saving your details on their My Vacation section and maybe you'll get some codes. Also look real close at the emails. The first one I got had the code right out in the open but the second one had the code in the fine print. I almost missed it.

| I've never had one, but I don't know if they send pin codes to UK residents. I've had some very nice offers, including $1,000 gift card to spend on your trip, that's the latest one I've seen on this side of the pond.

| Pin codes = randomness. I have been signed up to receive email from various Disney sites for several years. We got three pin codes this year! We chose the 40% off room code--you can only use one discount at a time, so we could have had free dining and paid full price for the room. However, we don't like to do a lot of preplanning and sit down meals, plus we drive, so we can and do eat off site during our trip. You should create an account log in, like for the WDW website, Disney Movies, Disney Store, etc. Be sure you have checked the YES box indicating you want mail from Disney. Log in a few times a year. Create and save a vacation plan, order a free vacation DVD, buy something from the Disney Store online, etc. Then cross your fingers. Last year we received a code with my son's name on it. The only Disney connections he has are that we registered him for the birthday promotion and his name was on our room reservation since he's over 18. We were able to use that code for our last year's trip. ![]()

| I'm convinced that the more you do with Disney, the more likely you are to get a pin code. Yalibrarian is right about all all the things she has done to pique the interest of Disney. I think you should log on to every Disney site you can. Don't just visit the site but actually log on. Enter every Disney contest and sweepstakes there is out there. Answer every guest survey as soon as you get it and give thoughtful and considered suggestions. Say "thank you" to Disney every time they do something nice or meaningful for you. Take other people to WDW with you. If they know that you regularly bring first-timers with you, they will notice! I went back through my e-mails for the last year and a half. I received 6 Pin Codes during that time! May 19 of 08, I received "A Rate Thats Sure to Make Your dreams Come True" pincode Aug. 8 of 08, I received a "Happily Ever After Resort" pincode Jan 16 of 09, I got a "Kids 3-9 Stay, Play and Dine for Free" pincode June 6 of 09 I received a Disney Cruise Line code for a $400 onboard credit Sept. 2 of 09 I got a pincode for Free Dining Oct 17th I received a pincode for 30% off a Value, 35% off a Mod or 40% off a Deluxe resort. Did Disney get a response from me? You betcha! We visited WDW in Nov. with 2 newbies and then in July with 4 1st timers. So my advice is to become a total Disney geek. If you dream it again and again (when Disney knows you are dreaming it) the pin codes will come.

| Wow, thank you so much for asking this! I've also seen reference to these pin codes but didn't realize that I've been receiving them myself. Occasionally Disney will send us a special offer and they have pin codes with them but I had no idea that they were anything other than generic promotions available to everyone. I've never been able to use any, but I will definitely be more appreciative of them and maybe someday we'll be able to take advantage. I had no idea they were so special!
