What\'s up with the Hello Kitty version of the Disney characters? I've been seeing them more and more and I don't like them! Megan (17yo) called me last night from Everything Pop (at Pop Century) to see if I wanted any charms and she was going on about all the stuff now that is like that and how much she hates it, too. Maybe we're just old-fashioned, but stop messing with Mickey!

Re: What\'s up with the Hello Kitty version of the Disney characters? I was kind of weirded out by them, too, and thought (at first) that they must be some kind of off-brand knock-off... but then I saw them in the Disney catalog.. "Cuties"??? Nope. Don't like it. Even my 7 year old seems kind of put off by them. She told me, "Mom, it's like Mickey, but it's not like Mickey. That's too weird." ![]()

Re: What\'s up with the Hello Kitty version of the Disney characters? I kinda like them. Not sure why. It looks like the baby version of Mickey. Anyway, Lizzie got a notebook with "Mr. Nice Guy" (mickey) on the cover so I got one for myself. ![]()

Re: What\'s up with the Hello Kitty version of the Disney characters? Am I the only one who absolutely LOVES them? I mean, I don't want to see them all the time and everywhere, but i think they're so cute! The only thing I don't like about them are the cheesey saying that are on the Cuties tee shirts at disneydirect.com. Tacky!

Re: What\'s up with the Hello Kitty version of the Disney characters? There is nothing like the original Mickey, but I though the new one was cute too. I don't think it will be around long though. It just doesn't seem to be catching on.

Re: What\'s up with the Hello Kitty version of the Disney characters? but the mickey that's plastered all over the place isn't original either (and they do sell merchandise with the 'vintage' mickey) i figured the cuties were imported from tokyo disneyland when i first saw them. they definitely have a japanese influence. but the cuties eeyore is pretty darn cool

Re: What\'s up with the Hello Kitty version of the Disney characters? I just checked them out. They are cute. I like them. They are not baby-not grown, I would say toddler stage. Just another version of something else to make money off of.

Re: What\'s up with the Hello Kitty version of the Disney characters? Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I think at least my local Disney store is doing away with them as everything "cutie" was on clearance and there was no sign of new products to take their place...YAY!!! I just can't explain how much I hate them.

Re: What\'s up with the Hello Kitty version of the Disney characters? I'm not too fond of the cuties either - I agree that I thought they were knock-offs of Disney and then was surprised to find them in the Disney store! LOL Girls can't decide either - first they hated them, then DD7 was kind of coveting some of them! ![]()
