| Advice for new mom of a BOY Jennifer and Dave, I just wanted to pass on this advice, (I was given on the birth of my first son), Always keep the firehose covered! When changing Alexanders diaper, have the new diaper opened and ready, and leave the wipe on top of his "firehose" until you are ready to secure the diaper. Enjoy him, my greatest gift are my 2 sons. Pam If anyone else has words of wisdom for new baby and family feel free to add it below |

[/ QUOTE ] As a mother of two boys that is valuable information!! DH learned this lesson early on the hard way when DS#1 added a little something to his coffee We were giving the first bath on the kitchen counter (in the little tub) when the "hose" activated When DS#1 was born a lady at church told me "You spend the the first year waiting for them to walk and talk and the next 18 years telling them to sit down and be quiet" ![]() Enjoy every minute with your precious little one. |

As the mother of 3 boys this is excellent advice. Boys are so much fun---enjoy everyday. |

| Re: Advice for new mom of a BOY As the mother of three sons and grandmother of 8 grandsons, I can attest that all the above is true. I can also tell you that you will sometimes have a "warning" that the "firehose" is about to spew forth...he'll get an erection (yes, even newborns get them, and it usually means that danger is imminent). So forewarned is forearmed. |

| Re: Advice for new mom of a BOY As a mom of 2 boys ... boys are very active compared to girls! Less talking, more moving around, at first in the crib, then crawling, hen walking, then running and they never stop! Boys are lots of fun! Have a great time and enjoy infancy while it lasts! Then you will need to put on your running shoes. |

| Re: Advice for new mom of a BOY Thanks everyone! We already know just what Alexander is capable of - within his first day he'd already soaked one of his nurses (it was quite a sight)! You'd think the pros would know better, too! ![]() |

Dr. Muyhidin was not surprised, however. He said it happens all the time. They lay there and are so entranced with Mama, they forget to pee til they're separated for their first check up. |
