ways to make extra money at home

Besides selling Avon what other ways are there to make some extra money. We already save change and bottles. I would like to earn extra dollars. Hopefully to pay for a trip this year if not then for next year.

Re: ways to make extra money at home

You could always do some Ebay auctions. You can pick up stuff at Yard sales, auctions and sell that on Ebay

Re: ways to make extra money at home

I started with Ebay two years ago. I've had some great hits and some great misses.

I also do secret/mystery shopping. I made extra money last month, plus all my reimbursements. You can do a Google search on mystery shopping companies. (Bit of advice: Never pay a "membership" or "one time" fee to a secret shopping company...YOU get paid for the work they need you to do, you DO NOT pay them!)

I sold Avon for 4 years and loved it. I'd still be doing it if I had my Cubicle Land job. That's where I had all my customers. I gave my account over to my mom, and she's done well with it ever since!

Good luck! Great thread, I'm always looking for new ways to make money!

Re: ways to make extra money at home

Do you scrapbook or make cards? There are 2 excellent companies that work really well for hobbyists, one is Leaving Prints (that's mine) and the other is I Remember When (that's DD's). It's around $35 to sign up with each and minimums are LOW. LP is $25/month, IRW is $50 every 4 months (I think). It's easy to meet the minimums. While you can't sell either line on eBay, you can make things (paper bag albums, pre-made scrapbooks, etc) to eBay, or you can scrap/make cards for other people.

Also, go through your house and see if there's anything there that you don't really want anymore. I unloaded a bunch of stuff last year that wound up paying for DDs and I to go on a Disney Cruise and a trip to WDW. You'd be AMAZED at what sells on eBay!

Re: ways to make extra money at home

Not hard at all. It took me a few hours, but if I can do it, anyone can. Need to set up a Paypal account too (not hard either). I'd give you instructions if I could remember, but its been a while, I do remember though its not hard. Just go on over to the website, and they have directions. The eBay thing sounds great. I might just check it out thanks for the idea..it would probably net more $ than having a yard sale?

It depends on the stuff. If you have anything that you think might be collectible, try to search on eBay to see if anyone else is selling it.

I have a yard sale to sell stuff that's a bit beat up and I sell for dirt cheap prices - basically just want to save some of it from ending up in a landfill.

The good stuff, I eBay. I had a toothpick holder that I thought was junk... but I looked on eBay and someone was selling a similar one and it was going for $29!!

Re: ways to make extra money at home

Well I just listed my first two items on Ebay. I hope I do well. I have some other items to sell so I might wait until these first 2 things are done and see how they do and then list some more items.

Re: ways to make extra money at home

I wanted to second the Mystery Shopping. I've been doing that for 4 months now and absolutely love it! I'm a stickler for customer service so it was right up my alley! I live in a small town so there aren't a WHOLE lot of opportunities around here, but I've already made 120 bucks this month plus reimbursements. PM if you are interested and I can mail you the name of a great company to get started with.
