eBay question...how long do you wait? I don't know what is going on lately, but I've had 2 auctions go wrong (where I'm the buyer). I purchased a mobile office set from some guy who left out one CD. I emailed and emailed and he promised and promised, but never has sent it, so I did file with PayPal for a refund. The other one is DD's special needs stroller, won it on the 15th, paid on the 20th (PayPal) and still no stroller. The auction said it would ship FedEx and I've asked several times for a tracking number. The person wrote me an email a week ago and said he/she'd have the number for me later that day, but still nothing. I still haven't decided what to do about this one...we can't wait forever. Any advice? How long do you give them? If they are slow/poor communication do you leave neutral feedback? I've been on eBay for 7 or 8 years now and have not had these kinds of issues before.

Re: eBay question...how long do you wait? I'm a fairly new ebayer (buyer only), but I've already been in that situation a couple of times. DH wanted me to buy a new ice maker and we got a good deal but it was listed as new and when we got it, it had lime scale in it like it had been used. That was my second purchase and I am sad to say I didn't do anything. We figured it was still a good price for a used. A year and a half later it's worked perfectly, luckily. I ordered a tshirt for DS and it didn't come, so about 2 weeks later I emailed the person and she said she sent it and didn't know what happened to it. She offered me two other shirts instead. (She didn't offer the tracking number.) I emailed back I didn't need 2 but if she'd send me photos I'd see if DS liked either. If not, I'd want my money back. (I didn't get insurance.) It turns out DS liked one of the shirts better than the original, so I got that one. I left a positive feedback because I figured she was willing to work with me and it worked out for the better for me. I've also recieved a nightie with a spot when it didn't mention a spot, but it was so cheap, again I did nothing. I think I'm an ebay wuss but they really weren't serious things to me. I figured there'll come a day when something big happens and I don't want to look pesky. I've been lucky to have good communicators, so I've never left a negative for that. I do always make sure when I leave feedback to write if people are good communicators though. As a buyer, I really appreciate that aspect. In your case, a missing CD that was never shipped after you asked and a stroller which I'm sure was expensive are things I would do something about. Good luck.

Re: eBay question...how long do you wait? As a seller and buyer, I have had several issues and I always tried to be patient. However there is a limit and I have also filed with Paypal and Ebay when the time comes. I have found that most people do want to work with you depending on the circumstance because they want good feedback left. I will say that threatening to leave bad feedback is NEVER a good option. It's mean and no one responds well to threats. Also I make sure to buy insurance if the item is over $25.00. I figure if it's over $25.00, I want to make sure I get either the money or merchandise incase something happens. Another tip would be if the seller has recent negatives or the raiting is lower than 90%....beware if you buy from them. If it works out, great, if not buyer beware. As for your issue...contact them again and let them know your time limit on the items. If you don't hear back in a few days (because of the holiday) then file with ebay and Paypal. What people need to remember is that others may have had the same issues that you do but since they didn't report it or don't leave the correct feedback (for the situation) then others fall victim as well and it just circles around. Good Luck and I hope you get your items or the money back!

Re: eBay question...how long do you wait? Yeah I've bought over 33 things from e-bay and feedback is a biggie for me. I actually go in search of the few negative comments and try to see what they were. Sometimes that is a BIG help. Keep trying!!

Re: eBay question...how long do you wait? I do ebay buying and selling. I have recently had problems on the opposite end, getting payment. So my items sit in my home office waiting to be shipped. Turns out in both instances the buyers had family problems come up and we have communicated and I received payment for one and am awaiting payment on the other. I only do money orders because I dislike PayPal. In your situation, I would definitely try the communication thing one more try stating your time limit and then file if they do nothing. Communication is absolute key in ebaying. Good luck, hope it straightens out for you soon.

Re: eBay question...how long do you wait? I have never had a problem in selling (knock on wood), but I have had issues when I have purchased things. My feedback is 100%, though, and I don't want to jepordize that. When I have a less than perfect experience (nothing really bad has ever happened, except when I was frauded for a $600 Dyson... but that's another story) I just don't leave feedback at all. I don't want them coming back and leaving something mean or nasty on my feedback! Amy
