| I just made disney $ on ebay!! - UPDATED in last post 7/26 I've sold things on ebay before, but I guess I never had a certain purpose for the money. DD and I are going to CA to visit family/friends next week, and since there was an empty day she and I are going to DL. (Really, isn't that what you'd do with an extra day?!) So I needed extra cash, and fast!! I gathered up stuff I've been meaning to list on ebay, and just made $143 yesterday!!! [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/woot.gif[/img] That'll pay for admission and food!!! yeah!!! |

| Re: I just made disney $ on ebay!! Congrats!!!!! I too just sold my first item on Ebay. Considering I was going to throw the item out now I am $33 richer. Not much but I only listed 2 items on Saturday night. Now I am inspired and am going to list 3 pairs of hockey skates my dd has outgrown and are taking up space in the basement. Might as well sell them and get some more $$$$'s |

I think I lost about $30 total on S&H charges because it turned out to be WAY more than I thought. Ebay has some sort of calculator where people can see what the actual charges will be for them and where they live. Next time I'm using that instead of flat rates. |

I finally invested in a digital scale that weighs up to 10lbs. It was about $20, but it has definitely saved me at least that much in shipping booboos. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]   |

You still use ebay's calculator or you don't anymore because it's not accurate. Where do you buy such a thing as a digital scale? It sounds like it was well worth the 20.00. I would have thought it would have been more costly than that. Another thing that confuses me is that similar things I've bought come shipped in different packaging. I've bought a lot of disney clothes, sometimes they come in a bag, sometimes in a bubble wrap bag, sometimes in a box, sometimes regular mail, sometimes priority mail. It confuses me. [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] I've printed off ebay's tutorial info. but have avoided reading it because I feel like I don't know where to start. Figuring out how to sell on ebay was my main mission for the summer being I don't teach in the summer and summer is already 2/3 gone [img]/ubb/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]. |

This is what's keeping me from trying it, it just seems so overwhelming to me. I have a large plastic box I keep putting items to sell in. It just keeps filling up... |
