| ebay question I haven't sold that long on ebay, but everyone has always paid in time, by the guidelines I put in my seller's description thing. For this last set of auctions, I have 2 people who haven't paid in the alloted time. (I sent invoices to them.) All my sales were done at that point, so I know they weren't waiting to bid on anything else.
My question is, how do you all handle that? Do you send them an email through the contact buyer thing or resend an invoice with a note or what? If so, what should I tell them? Do I say something like "if I don't recieve payment within two days", etc? Yuk! I would assume I should try to contact them before starting any further action. |

| Re: ebay question I would just send them a reminder notice or a quick email. If you don't get something back with in a day or two...send them a warning that you will report them to EBay if you do not hear from them say in 48 hrs then I would report them. I'm not sure how that all works. Maybe they are waiting for Pay Day on Friday? I just started selling on EBay and have not had this problem yet. Let us know how it goes. |

| Re: ebay question It happened to me once, do a search on EBay under help, I forget exactly where it is I think under "nonpayment" and Ebay will send them a notice. This worked for me and I was paid the same day. Good luck. |

| Re: ebay question I also have a note that I put in the bottom of ALL of my auctions now that I must receive contact within 7 days, not necessarily payment, but contact and if there is no contact after 7 days I will relist item. I have seen other people do it too and add that if they do not receive contact/payment or whatever you choose, they will automatically put negative feedback in the system. I know it is difficult when you feel bad for someone, but how were you to know? Also if you had an emergency and ran out of a restaurant without paying, they'd probably send the cops after you. Don't feel bad. |

| Re: ebay question Thanks for your help. I'll start out by emailing again and reminding them to send payment within 48 hours. I know sometimes life just gets in the way! |

| Re: ebay question You can also request contact information (phone number) from eBay. I have never had to call anyone to harass... I mean remind ... them to pay. But when they get that email from eBay that says you have requested their contact information, it often jolts them into paying.
If that doesn't work, you can have eBay send them a non-payment letter (don't remember the exact name). That also oftens jolts them into action.

| Re: ebay question I agree.. My auctions are very date specific.. I request address within 3 days, payment within 7-10 days.. on 3rd day if no address, I send a 3 day letter asking for address & (very nice letter) 7th day has 2 separate letters.. if i've received contact they get a friendly reminder that payment is due within the 10 day frame, if no contact from them a not so nice letter the 9th day I send another reminder letter stating that if payment isn't received by the next day I will be filing an unpaid item dispute with Ebay, that is usually enough to jump start them into paying..
If not, I DO file on the 10th day..
I know this sounds harsh but it's the only way I can keep track of everything plus.. I am also just as specific on shipping.. I ship one day a week, Friday & if I can't abide by that ( has only happened twice in 7+ years with Ebay) I let a buyer know.. |
